Oh geeze. We did... To Kill a Mockingbird/Lord of the Flies/Romeo and Juliet in grade 9, I think. Chrysalids/F451/Othello in grade 10. Merchant of Venice/Heart of Darkness/Life of Pi in grade 11. Speak/Heart of Darkness/Hamlet in grade 12. Then I read 1984, Brave New World, Animal Farm, King Lear and Mac...thing on my own time.

Sask, I enjoy fiction, but a lot of non-fiction can be fantastic too. The great thing about historical books is that there's so much rich history in the world that I'd swear sometimes it reads like fiction. Especially accounts of older civilizations (although to be fair, those have probably been revised and crafted by the victors at the time to the point where they're more fiction than reality.)
