Opinions on this for basic barbell squatting and benching? I need something with safety bars because I won't have a spotter.
I like working out but I absolutely hate the gym. Looking for something to squat and bench press in safely without breaking the bank. There is very little on kijiji right now and this one seems like a decent deal for what I want.
I think it's good.
If the bench is movable (which I imagine it is), it will be good for squats too.
Do you know how tall it is?
I usually find when squatting that the most comfortable position for the bar is shoulder level so that I could get under it and just push up with my legs to get the bar off.
Pop is poop
Don't drink that garbage even in mix drinks
Yep the bench is movable, and according to the specs it's just under 6 feet and the squat extensions are adjustable so I'm pretty sure I'd be able to get it to shoulder level (which I agree is the most comfortable heigh for squats).

Weight capacity (user + weight): 500 lbs (226 kg)
That might not last too long...
Rofl, how did I miss that?
I feel stupid.

Meh, I'm only 165 and although that will go up, I don't think I'll be benching anywhere near 300 pounds any time soon. I doubt I'll be squatting anywhere near 500 either
And if I do get there I'm sure I'll be ecstatic to reinvest in something a little more heavy duty.
Ha.. alright - I'd check it out in person if you could... but I guess CT has a pretty reasonable return policy regardless.
Be sure to get a decent bar and plates, can shop around at Rogue or Muscledriver to get some ideas for options.
What do you think about this set?
Any tips for keeping weight on?
If personal experiences are any indication, beer & baked goods do wonders.
I think Harper and the Cons are going to try to keep beating that war drum and taking a hard line with Putin despite having no real intention of doing anything besides using the conflict to entice tax payers to arm ourselves with some new fancy American grade military planes/tanks/subs/drones. While he does this, he'll paint Trudeau as some weak, peace loving idealist without the gal to stand to such monsters like Vladdy during the election cycle. Play on our fear and want to help the poor Ukraine to get himself elected again. This will make the next federal election closer than it should be with Harper's track record.
