Looper was okay. It also had its problems when it comes to time travel. The fact that the truck full of gold that old Joes character was driving at the end of the movie was still on there on the road even after young Joe killed himself is kind of ridiculous. It should have disappeared immediately after young Joe killed himself.

Didn't looper have a major flaw in its time travel logic?

I've found Lost's theory on time travel to be the best. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Time_travel

For people that like time travel and infinite realities, Stargate is the best sci-fi ever.

Looper addressed the inconsistencies when the two characters meet: Willis says "we're not going to debate time travel ********" so anyone who says "this or that should have happened" is completely wrong because the movie addressed that point

I also agree that LOST's take on time travel is by far the best I've seen so far: it's the one that makes the most sense and I'm usually baffled by people who don't get the concept

I feel the need to point out to all the Eastern Standard Time loungers - it is already Friday Evening here in Indonesia, and I am already relaxing with a beer and some BBQ chicken. I think I'll be moving on to G&T's once I'm done this beer, and will probably spend the rest of the evening lounging around in the pool.

Just think about that as you try and wake yourself up, stumble around making coffee, telling yourself it's just ONE MORE WORKDAY until the weekend.

Cheers!
Fridays off. Come at me, bro.
Just bought a whole beef for a cool total of $1200 even. I got about 960lbs of fresh beef in my freezer now.
You bought a whole beef? Did you also smoke a whole marijuana and play a whole cards?

Smoking a whole marijuana? That's crazy talk. One should never smoke more than 5 partial marijuanas, 6 tops, or risk finding Dane Cook funny forever.

I agree with that stuff. IMHO, it's the role of the government (i.e., us!) to decide which causes are of higher priority, and to channel funds accordingly. I prefer paying taxes than donating to charity, knowing that the government should have everyone's concerns at heart and not those who come up with the sexiest campaign.

Of course in the current climate of hating taxes and governments I'm probably in the minority.

I agree that government should raise funds and spend them on developing solutions to health care issues. I do not object to the efforts of organizations to raise funds to do the same.

I do object to political parties that espouse limited government, lowering taxes, and eliminating red tape. Those types don't have all the people in mind and interest. Eliminating red tape tends to mean eliminating government oversight which then leads to lieing, cheating, environmental and man made disasters such as the Lac Megantic train wreck and fire. Industry self regulation usually means no regulation at all.

I don't want the entire cow; i prefer a choice of the better things such as strip loin steaks, pork chops, halibut, and chicken.

Nope. Never touched the stuff and I have no idea what whole cards are. Anyways I'm grilling a porterhouse tonight that was alive and kicking two days ago.
It's gonna be perfection.

My friends offered it and I had to accept and considering the price of beef, I got a fantastic deal.

Besides, why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free? :naughty:

As long as you like all the different cuts of beef and use it in the right timeframes, that's great. For me, meaning my wife, :) its a case of different strokes. Besides, i need some space for frozen fruit pies, ice cream treats, frozen snacks, etc. :)

Yes skynet would still exist, i am just wondering if killing Connor in the past would actually do anything. There are theories about time travel and depending on which ones you believe in, killing connor in the past might not work. It is like if you went back in time to kill yourself. If you did go back in time to kill yourself, then your future self would never exist. Thus your future self would never go back in time to kill your past self. Same type of thing applies to this movie. If the t-100 killed Connor, then a t-100 in the future would never be sent back in time to kill Connor, thus possibly rendering Connors death obsolete.

I am seriously putting way too much thought into this.

If Skynet was smart, they'd just follow and monitor Connor and learn everything about him and his battle strategies. The enemy you know is much easier to defeat than an unknown enemy.

I mean, if they succeeded in killing John Connor as a kid, another unknown human would simply fill the void and a completely different resistance (perhaps an even more effective one) would've emerged. Plus, all of Skynet's prior gains in knowledge (the timetravel info given by the terminators during the struggle to kill Connor) would've been obsolete and/or misleading data.

All Skynet would've had to do is wait until the resistance movement was in it's early (and most vulnerable) stages, then then wipe out the whole thing in one swoop. Never let Connor know he was being watched and monitored beforehand.

It's like in the third movie when they killed off his lieutenants...all that does is create a resistance movement of different unknown people that Skynet doesn't have a battle plan for.

Third movie? I think you are mistaken, sir. There are only two Terminator films.

Eating 3/4 of a really spicy pepper was probably not my smartest decision. Let's see how much I regret this tomorrow.

The third one was terrible. Absolutely terrible.

Terminator: Salvation was pretty ok as a stand-alone sci-fi flick. Disappointing when you try to compare it to T2, but not without some redeeming parts.

The TV show (Sarah Connor Chronicles? Something like that?) I can't comment on, I've never seen an episode.

I'd tend to agree with this.

I didn't hate Salvation but it was pretty mediocre and forgettable.

T3 is too painful to even remember. It doesn't help that it was coming off an extended wait since T2 (which is not only the best Terminator film but I'd argue one of the best sci-fi/action films out there).

What is funny is that Connor wouldn't be born without Skynet. If Skynet did not send the first terminator back, then Kyle Reese would never go back in time and would never make love with Connors mother. Which begs the question how did Connor even exist in the first place?

I watched the entire season. I think budget did them in, to be honest. It was a cool enough concept with a ready made fan base, but unless you include fantastic FX in each episode there is no real point to it.

My sympathies, but unless you had very private access to his every thought, you can't know what kind of hell he was going through. Most people who get to that point feel like there is no other choice.
