*sigh*

It's incredibly sad how much this actually is going to effect my year. I had a lot of plans for the release of NHL 15 and my club and I planned on dominating the PS4 community.

Bleh. It's going to be a while before I lose this bitterness.

I'm a sucker so I'm going to buy it anyway just for a be a gm, but I really hope their sales go to **** and they realize they need to start making a quality product. The soccer and basketball games are incredible but still no one can make a great hockey game. I'm praying that 2k has been taking their time and will release an insane nhl game in the next couple of years and I'll never have to give money to ea again.

This is just a warning but Rammer (the lead producer for the NHL series) responded in a Q&A when asked about the status of the offline Be a GM with this...

Rammer said:
In Be-A-GM, you have the opportunity to control your own franchise and guide them to a Stanley Cup. All of the basics of the mode are there: there’s free agency, trading, and the rookie draft. You can play up to 25 seasons as well. The core of that mode is there.

We’re continuing as part of our updates to bring back some of that depth in different ways. We’ll have more details on what the patch plans for Be-A-GM specifically at a later date. The goal was to create a solid foundation to continue to build upon and to bring back things our fans have been asking for which we haven’t been able to in the past because of other technical limitations we’ve had.

That sure sounds promising. They know that the mode is broken as **** and are just shrugging their shoulders.

Just a warning.

I bought a damn xbox for that game and so my girlfriend can play dragon age inquisition. She won't use my pc for some reason, even though its more powerful than either next gen console.

I hope they're serious about releasing patches to improve the be a gm mode, thats what i play 90% of the time.

Wtf is even in this game then? HUT is garbage and no one wants to play now over and over again. Jesus Christ they had almost two years to work on this ****ing game.

I guess I'll spend that extra time studying instead, take that ea.

Be a GM is just so entertaining, I find myself constantly restarting to try a different approach of how and who to build with each time. So amazing.
What I found I did consistently was build a defense of all two-way defenders. Was golden.

Also much better when I found out how to edit the Player's stats and potentials

WAIT, does DA Inquisition come out for PS4 too or... :(

They're gonna sell a ton of copies because like it or not, they're the only ones putting out a hockey game. It's too bad that they're fine putting out a half finished product. You look at the shine and polish on games like FIFA and it blows NHL out of the water.

Fifa has a bigger budget and has way more people working on the game.

I'm tired of hearing this excuse. The fact of the matter is that EA NHL is releasing a demo and charging $70 for it.

How is it an excuse? Making video games costs a lot of money. Opening up servers and running them costs money. How are you suppose to improve something when you don't really have the budget for it.

By having two years to build said game.

The real shame is that EHM2007's sim engine blows anything that EA has produced for NHL out of the water, but that game didn't make enough for the dev team so they focused solely on FM updates.

EHM backend with EANHL front end would be my ideal hockey game.

It is an excuse. You don't release a half finished product and say "sorry, we didn't have enough people working on it for it to be good." That's their problem, not mine. It's their responsibility to form a proper team and create a proper product and if they can't do that they shouldn't even bother.

Yup coming out for everything but Nintendo. Pretty damned excited about that game, it looks like EA learned their lesson after the second one and gave bioware the time they needed to work on this one. Even pushing back release a couple of months till november.

All of us who keep buying the EA NHL games are as much to blame as the developers and EA. You keep supporting a sub par product and assure it will succeed and continue to produce more and more sub par games.

Give them a reason to release a quality game.

Yup, same reason that Michael Bay keeps releasing explosiony crap. People pay for it.

But im a sucker and buy nhl every year or two. Even if its just a slight refresh on last years game, it always gives me a push to play it again.

Dear lord, was the new Ninja Turtles movie ever terrible...

Technically that wasn't a Bay movie (one review I read finished that line with 'but you will wish it was').

It was a Liebesman movie, director of such stellar films as Wrath of the Titans, Battle Los Angeles, and Darkness Falls.

I was actually superhyped for this year's blockbuster season... and ended up only going to see Godzilla (liked), Guardians of the Galaxy (hadn't actually planned to until the week of, but liked), and Amazing Spiderman 2 (wish I hadn't).

Transformers I was stoked for - skipped once I heard reviews saying that the Dinobots only show up for the last 10 minutes of a 3h movie... Hercules I was actually interested in but interest sputtered out... Ninja Turtles I was cautiously optimistic about until reviews of the released product...

Not much left to go see now before Oscar season kicks in, and everything gets all boring and drama-y.

Honestly if it's an action 'RPG' still not interested.
I was super annoyed at them going from a beautiful CRPG in DA:O (basically making the D&D game that they lost their license for), to a terrible 'awesomebutton' action game.

Even the ME series, I've never really gotten into the gameplay because of how it plays.

From what i've seen to combat system is going to be closer to DA:O than the second one, but im not really sure. Either way, the narrative has always been the big draw of bioware rpgs. Another area where DA2 dropped the ball big time.

Kind of a lame question but does anyone here have a favourite travel coffee mug? The ones I have always leave a metal-y taste in my mouth that just ruin it for me.

I overpaid for mine from Starbucks, but it was 50% off (after Christmas, I think), so I didn't feel terrible about succumbing to their overpriced stuff.

My wife got this one from Starbucks (different time, same 50% off), and she likes it:

I've had mine for 5 years now, and she's had hers for 2, and they haven't broken or anything. Still going strong.

No, it wasn't a Bay-directed movie, but it was his production studio who did it, and you could tell that Bay had Liebesman's ear for many parts of the movie.
