1) this was a God like Joy ride.. It made relatively little sense. What is so appealing about a sunken ship? There are hundreds if not thousands. One Hollywood director make s a movie and suddenly, we are all enchanted enough!!!!!
2) did he explained the risks to the passengers.. How may of these rich folk, would have climbed aboard? NONE

Everything about this was wrong.

I would love to see if the passengers signed waivers?

and how did the government grant him a license to operate out of Newfoundland, without an approved sea vessel!!!!

Can you imagine opening a restaurant here, without proper permits and health inspections, etc..
I don't disagree.

The Sinking of the Titanic has generated more than one movie.

The Sinking of the Titanic reached iconic status decades before most of us were born. It’s not like the fascination of the wreck happened in recent years.

Some people are more interested than others, and just because it is not your cup of tea, doesn’t mean it should be off limits for everyone.

There is risk in everything, even crossing the street is a Risk.

I wonder if you thought it was worth it to land a man on the Moon?
That was Risky, and it cost a number of lives before it happened.

no, it was not. Astronomers, astro-physicist knew the moon was nothing but a rock. Long ago. It has relatively little benefit. It sits and rotates. At night, the sun shines on it and it illuminates us.

we went, for ego..and a race against the Russians.

much of what humanity does, it does out of ego, with little benefit.

we climbed Everest.. great. Got up there, realized snow and cold and poor oxygen... Lovely, they new that a few thousand years ago..

so much of what we do, we do for ego, for personal "God like feeling".. look at how unique I am.. I am God like.. I climbed Everest. I went down 3800 M and saw the titanic... OOOHHHH..

How about: LOOK at me, I just saved a life. I donated the millions to charity to help.. How about: I will drive a Honda Civic and donate the 500 K that I would waste on a Ferrari, to feed the hungry... NO...no God like there.... and cannot pick up women half our age!!!

the moon is a rock. the USA spent billions, mean while thousands died in its lands from hunger, poor medical service, crime and so on... But damn: One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.. It should be on the headstone of every person who dies of cancer.

So there we’re no economic spinoffs from the effort to get to the moon, that was of any benefit to mankind?

Should the Europeans stayed on their continent? Was crossing the Atlantic to “discover” the Americas a bad thing for mankind?

You used to get a liberal pop up now you're getting a conservative one. Who did you recently start following on twitter?
That would depend if your American or Canadian on the colour of a pop up on twitter.

Could you elaborate?

Hard to even know where to start. I guess maybe with the mass genocide of native populations across the Americas and for good measure we can throw in the enslavement and displacement of huge populations from other continents as well to work cash-crop farms for the enrichment of a tiny handful.

A challenge to all. 3 V 3 basketball

1) our point guard, my next door neighbor.. she is 55 and a towering 5' 2". Does not speak a word of English and her Mandarin is poor and speaks in the dialect of the region she is from
2) our low post, her husband. all 5' 10" off. 65. Does not speak English.. is a soaking wet 150 lbs
3) our shooting forward, me. 5' 9".. a 4" vertical. Two left hands. Cannot speak a word of any Chinese dialect.

So, all comers are welcome. You will be trash talked in 5-6 different languages.. A whole lot of hand waving and gesturing.

If you got game, we'll be there... and when we say; you want more of this? we mean, more snacks, drinks and whatever else we bring with us.

So you mean just like what has happened in all of human history…..

are you suggesting Europeans should have just stayed put, on their continent and not seek to expand their empires?

explain how mankind would have been better off.

Yes, that is quite clearly what I am suggesting, but this doesn't strike me as a conversation that's going to go anywhere, so I'll leave it at that.

I see no takers, HUH

We have been practicing: on a 9 foot high net, we hit a whopping 3 out of about 100 shots. Sent the ball into the neighbor's yard and crushed her garden about a 1/2 dozen times and sent the ball below our vehicles another 1/2 dozen times.

Once the rest of you get the courage, give us a call.
