GDT: Sens @ Leafs - 7pm - HNIC

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

This has been a prolonged problem now. We're consistently getting outshot and not driving the play for the last month now. Big problem.
It's been longer than a month, it's been like this for 40+ games

The Leafs are 26th in xGF% since December 1st

Their peers are the Montreal Canadiens, Columbus Blue Jackets, Seattle Kraken, Buffalo Sabres etc.

Marner is a wimp, Nylander has an issue with effort, and Matthews honestly just looks like he's out there to collect his cash. Reilly is almost un playable at this point also. If massive changes aren't made to the core of this team it will probably be atleast another 25 years until Toronto sees a cup.
I’ll never question his effort in games that matter I rather someone who takes time off in the season and is dialed in in the playoffs as opposed to the opposite

To dump and chase you need forwards that hit
Agreed, I don’t hate the idea of playing that like on theory/paper, but the roster is not built like that.

So you either keep doing it and get performances like this.. Where you have 12 shots after 2 periods and 0 pressure.. Or you switch it to play to the teams style.

Keep waiting for that pride to show also, others seem are blaming the coaching but im sick of it. This sad sack of "leaders" we have is the issue. They play when its 3 on 3 but as soon as the going gets tough they shrivel up.

If they lose in the first round again, it will be squarely on the players. How many coaching changes do we need before it's on the players? I don't know how you can just bring everyone back again for 2025-2026.

It's been going on since November if we are being honest, but it is bottom third of the league bad since February.

It's basically the kind of game I expected. Tight-checking hockey and the Leafs look are having a hard time even though they're supposed to have this identity of being a defensive team now.

This is exactly the type of game Marner fails to make much of an offensive impact in repeatedly. Hoping he can create something in the third.

If you named me the coach I would probably play a 1-1-3 or a 3-2 (Jalonen). Ugly, shit looking hockey but with our lack of grit and battle winning team... we need a system where we get NZ turnovers or we force dumps, run some interference and get the puck right back out in the NZ where we use speed to get on loose pucks.

It is anti hockey but based on the roster we have? I'd play LA Kings style. I'm usually not this negative but I am seeing this team for what it is and it has a chance to completely implode.

If he's smart he will leave. No chance of winning with this leadership. People think he will be hated if he leaves, but when the results don't change the target will change to someone else.

Marner’s not winning anywhere the way he’s going. It’s not the team’s fault.
