Pre-Game Talk: SENS @ Buffalo, Tuesday 7pm (The Norris-less game?)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Those games have basically zero impact on the Sens. I really hope they don't base any decision on those. Blues/Habs is the most important game we're not playing in this week, with it having a whopping 4% swing on whether we are more likely to get WC1 or 2.
NYI winning would put them 4 points behind us (we have a game in hand). Essentially just close enough to be annoying.

I personally rather start forsberg. At the same time it is clear that we have at least 3 players playing with some sort of injury (Tkachuk/Zub/Jensen (not playing yet but i dont think is going to come back at 100%)) and one guy who looks like he needs a break (Giroux). We need to give serious thought about resting the players as soon as we can and that can only happen once we clinch a spot. So while i rather start forsberg i do see the thought process for starting ullmark and locking up the spot as quickly as possible.

Another thing to note is that ullmark even with his injury has played 37 games this year. Last year he played 40. His career high is 49. Thats another thing to factor in as well.

Kevyn Adams got Dorioned with the Cozens trade.
It must be hard to negotiate with other teams when you're the GM of Buffalo. Every player plays worse on that team than they would on another, so getting the proper value would be almost impossible.

I heard that Adams had some pretty ridiculous asking prices for Cozens before he settled for Norris. If I were him I would just stock pile draft picks and luck out in the next 5 to 10 years.

He’ll get fired waiting on the draft picks, that’s why he made the trade.

Also top 6 Cs are like RD, they’re hard to find. That’s why despite Norris’ injury history there were like 5-6 teams in on him according to Friedman.

I don’t really think he was wrong to take the best center he could get, regardless of injuries.

Brady could get 4 + full days off before the Detroit game. 6 + before the BJs at home

Go get a win tonight. Sens have not shown up for 2 games vs the Sabres this year so far.

Look forward to seeing the lines tonight if T7 doesn't play. Does Gaudette get elevated with Timmy and Z ? Does he change lines 2 or 3? Does Halliday slide in for Gaudette or does he play up the lineup?

edit this just came out

Lets give them the night off, games tomorrow. :naughty:

Well this is kind of fun. Maybe less so if it’s for Brady, but it’ll be nice to see him get a shot.

Little surpised it's Halliday who got the call as his production has really dropped off the last couple weeks. Haven't watched the games though, so could be he's playing well and the points just aren't happening.

Well if nothing else Zetterlund should get plenty of chances to shoot on a line like that
