NYI winning would put them 4 points behind us (we have a game in hand). Essentially just close enough to be annoying. Those games have basically zero impact on the Sens. I really hope they don't base any decision on those. Blues/Habs is the most important game we're not playing in this week, with it having a whopping 4% swing on whether we are more likely to get WC1 or 2.
I personally rather start forsberg. At the same time it is clear that we have at least 3 players playing with some sort of injury (Tkachuk/Zub/Jensen (not playing yet but i dont think is going to come back at 100%)) and one guy who looks like he needs a break (Giroux). We need to give serious thought about resting the players as soon as we can and that can only happen once we clinch a spot. So while i rather start forsberg i do see the thought process for starting ullmark and locking up the spot as quickly as possible.
Another thing to note is that ullmark even with his injury has played 37 games this year. Last year he played 40. His career high is 49. Thats another thing to factor in as well.
