He'll probably go back to being a TV analyst. He has the charisma and the old school grumpiness to be entertaining enough in that capacity.

I have this horrible mental image of Burke and Tortorella doing a variant on Coach's Corner on some broadcast somewhere for the next 20 years or so.

Trust me, just because I want something doesn't mean I'm dumb enough to expect it. I'm just trying to speak it into existence, because it's the only way we'll ever accidentally do something right.

Was he fired or stepped down? That matters IMO. Yet Rocky still on the bench

Torts is a total fraud. The last 3 years have been wasted. Took them for a cool 16 million with zero results.
 
I don't really think he had a chance at doing well here. This team has sucked, it still sucks, and it will continue to suck until we are free from dead weight.

The only thing he could have done better was make them lose more games.

But I understand that his attitude sucked, he was a grumpy gus, and the players might not have liked him- way she goes.

There’s legal wiggle room here for him to come back in another capacity but it’s not a wide open door.

Nah, they'll come back when (or rather if!) they start winning again at some point.

I have tuned out for a while now, haven't watched a game in years. I still check the scores, the standings and this board.

If the FO ever arrives in the 2020s, and they have a decent shot to maybe win a playoff series or two, I'll be back and so will many others.

His life span as a coach is 3-4 years. Players start to not care about his yelling and don’t listen to him. He gets all mad and silent quits on the team so he is let go. This is the 3/4th time this has happened (van could only stand him for a year)

Sounds like he was canned (which also seem like he wanted). I highly doubt he stays, that would be very foolish on the Flyers part at this point.

Wonder if Briere gave an ultimatum either he stays, or I stay. Either way a clown show organization. Cant wait to hear “Hilf” speak.
