Thanks a lot

Puempel as a complete player is key. It will be easier for him to carve out a niche in the NHL without too much pressure at outscoring veteran offensive players.

Prince has been very underrated since the "rumours". That's a guy we will need to find a spot down the road. Can't wait to see him get a call-up.

If both Prince and Puempel reach their potential, it will be interesting to see how our LW sorts itself out. Michalek getting bumped is certainly the first popular option (though easier said than done), but what next? Can we run with a LW of Mac, Hoff, Puempel, Prince?

Good question... None of these guys can play Right Wing effectively?

Prince likely won't ever play in Ottawa & I assume he will be shipped out in a package deal. The only question with Puempel is when he will be NHL ready, if it is soon this yr or next, than there is no need to make a deal for a guy like Perron. If Puempel needs longer than whenever he is ready Ottawa could then look to deal Michalek.

To Edmonton: Zack Smith C, Eric Condra RW Patrick Wiercioch LD & Eric Gryba RD
To Ottawa: David Perron LW & Jeff Petry RD

To Buffalo: Greening LW, Prince LW & a 2nd rd pick
To Ottawa: Drew Stafford RW

MacArthur - Turris - Ryan
Perron - Zibanejad - Stafford
Hoffman - Lazar - Stone
Michalek - Legwand - Chiasson/Neil

Methot - Karlsson
Cowen - Ceci
Boroweicki - Petry/Phillips

Pierre Dorion said today that there is a good chance that he plays some games THIS year. Curious why you think that's so unlikely? :sarcasm:

kind of just looks like you're making trades for the sake of making trades. not sure that makes our team better, and i doubt edmonton does that deal

I would love Petry on this team. Could you imagine a RD of Karlsson, Ceci, and Petry? That's pretty stacked...

I think there are two many guys ahead of Prince & a couple of them are signed for a few yrs. While Greening may get traded or waived he is signed for 3 yrs, I doubt they move Michalek as well in the same yr but you never know. IMO Prince is behind Puempel in Bingo & I assume Puempel will get a call up before Prince to Ottawa. MacArthur is here for a while, Hoffman is playing well so I doubt they move him, they now have Zibanejad on the wing, they have tried Smith at LW, Condra has played some LW ...

IMO there are just too many options ahead of trying Prince in Ottawa unless there is a pretty large over haul on LW. And what happens if they trade for another forward as it has been mentioned they are interesting in adding, that would drop Prince another notch. Next yr could be interesting as well if Paul continues to develop & whether they have him playing centre or LW which is where I think he is destined to play in Ottawa. That's why I put Prince in trading proposals, I think he is the most obvious choice with some value that would add value to any package.

Prince plays both wings so i imagine if a winger gets injured for a significant amount of time they might give him a shot. Espesically after a good camp and preseason

i've always been a huge fan of Prince. He's a player, whether he becomes a top 6 or not. Wouldn't mind seeing Greening or Michalek moved to give him a LW spot

a few years ago I was posting that I thought prince with his drive and determination (and skill) would almost definitely make it and pageau was unlikely, then a couple years ago i thought maybe i was wrong, then this year i was thinking maybe i was right?

I really would've liked to see either Prince or Puempel and Pageau make the team instead of resigning Michalek and signing Legwand.

Something along the lines of:

Mac - Turris - Ryan
Puempel - Zibanejad - Chiasson
Hoffman - Lazar - Stone
Prince - Pageau - Condra/Neil/Smith?

If I'm being honest we'd probably do a lot worse in the standings with this lineup but it's not as if we're guaranteed to make the playoffs this year with who we've got anyways and at least here we've got a real high energy bottom six that'd be a lot more fun to watch. Also comes with the added benefit of a much higher draft pick and the knowledge of whether or not we really have something in Prince, Pageau and Puempel.

I wanted that to but I don't think it would of been good. That team would of been pushed around so much, and after watching Edmonton that has some serious effects on the growth of the players.
At least this year the team doesn't get pushed around and has leadership. I think it'll make the team better in 2-3 years when we see some of the Bingo players come into the line up

I don't see Pageau or Prince getting pushed around any easier than Michalek or Legwand do honestly. Especially after hearing Dorion's comments on Prince's strength.

That's a cool lineup for next year if all the Bingo guys pan out... however right now I only think Pageau is NHL ready.

I would take Pageau over Neil/Greening/Michalek/Legwand/Smith/Condra

Agreed on Pageau being the only one that's definitely NHL ready, Prince and Puempel definitely still question marks I just think they'd be fun to watch. Especially Prince who I've only ever gotten to see live a couple times but have heard many good things about.

Michalek and Legwand don't get pushed around. They work hard, play physical in the corners and in front of the net.
They just suck offensively

You see a couple kids being harder to push around than big fully matured adults? say what you want about the disparity in skill, but the disparity in strength, endurance, toughness is massive, heavily in michaleks and legwands favour.
