Vanacek in or do they avoid the quasi back to back for him?

Pro tip- you beat the SENS off the cycle as our team is embarrassingly good at getting caved in our own end. Our key to the game will be limiting how much we get caught running around in our own zone and trying to not get exploited by your top lines who exploit exactly this kind of defence. For their part the SENS beat you on the PP and with skill and speed off the rush at ES.

We have two lines and that's about it although our depth scoring has been better of late. With rookie Ridly Greig out our third and fourth lines are likely back to being in survival mode when out there however.

We will be relying on a big game from our starter of the future Mads Sogaard who is not ready for full-time duties but can steal the game. He is a huge goalie yet shooting high from outside has surprisingly been his weakness but he has tightened up on this in the last few games. He is probably the X factor tonight.

Guys to keep an eye on- Tim Stutzle is worth the price of admission alone and yeah, he's better than Jack Hughes... ;) Jake Sanderson plays like a well rounded future Norris winner despite being a rookie and our top line of Tkachuk, Stutzle, Giroux is really fun to watch when clicking.

This is pretty much our season here so go easy on us. A SENS win and a Florida / Pittsburgh loss and its plan the parade kind of stuff on the streets in Ottawa.

I wish this team could go easy. We just got off a bad defensive game last night, and played like a billion games in the last 3 weeks.

The key single factor of motivation is probably to clinch a spot tonight and not let the Rags get any closer, although it ultimately won't matter as we probably will face the Rangers in 1st round barring some massive run they have (or if the Devils can go on a run to end season with Carolina slumping). And just in general, improve the home record. I'm pretty sure both teams will be up for a big game tonight.

The current Sens remind me of last few years of Devils, a team that is almost at the point of breaking out to something nice. With a combo of better luck, a little more veteran experience (or gained experience for youth), and some good vibes your team will be good soon. Maybe a coaching change or just finding that goaltender. Last few years of Devils had ability to stage of comeback, and just fall short or just fall short of keeping a tight lead on a good team. I think the Sens experienced that a lot this season, so I think it should be better next year. Similar situation for, (I think), Buffalo.

Good luck today anyway!

I'm not too worried about the offense or the lines that much, this team can score goals. We've had lines and guys get hot all year and when things aren't working we'll mix and match.

What I am worried about is our rush defense, guys getting coned like last night and giving up 47 odd man rushes a game. I don't like that Ruff mentioned it again last night that they've been through this (they know about it and are trying to address those issues) but it still keeps happening.

When things tighten up in the playoffs, where we might not be able to free wheel and rack up goals as easily, because the clutching and grabbing ramps up and the whistles go away, we cant be giving the opposition freebies like yesterday.

If I hear ONE comment from Bill about Ottawa checking the out of town scoreboards to see they still have a shot at the playoffs I may just resort to VIOLENCE on any human in my vicinity. Luckily there won't be other humans near me.

That shit last night about the Sabres was either some kind of copium to try to feed us (they're fighting for their playoff lives! They've still got a chance! It's not like we're losing to Philly or one of the bottom 5 teams!) or some dumb shit.

But it was some straight bullshit. I'd rather hear them talk about how nice their skin looks.

Bill is getting to the point where he is as jinx'y as Cangi was. He started off the season okay, but has now gone FULL Cangi on this. Pisses me off!

"We are currently running a perfect PK the last 5 road games...."

<BAM> pk goal scored.

"Mercer is about to tie some Gretzy record"

<BAM> streak over

"We've been totally dominant on 3rd period close outs"

<2 goals against>

"The other team has really struggled with their 3rd period efforts"

<lose game>

You come here and say Stutzle is better than Hughes? Other than the fact that he isn’t what makes you suggest that?

f*** worthless GMWAT

What an embarrassment of a general manager this team has

Ownership needs to come in and publicly embarrass his stupid ass. Maybe they can make a live action movie out of his firing through some Ryan Reynolds connections.

Then he can talk about how great of a career he had and how much everyone loved him when he acquired worthless, shit bag, POS GOON Alex Burrows at the deadline and how everyone wanted to hug him.

f*** this dumb loser IDIOT general manager. He was just a PUPPET for Melnyk. He ain't qualified for shit.
Imagine if they kept Gusty who trades a 24 yr old goalie for a 35 year old....If they kept Gusty and he comes even close to how he played this year they are in the playoffs....I get Wild are better team but he has been lights out this year

Also wearing these tonight, I thought it was weird that this wasn't promoted at all until yesterday, especially cause they had all the jersey jersey and retro jerseys listed under the promotional schedule.

It's also weird they didn't wear them on the 16th, kinda makes me wonder if there was a shipping delay...

"Pizza box" night! Might have to wear one of mine to the game. As much as I'm disspointed about our faint chances at the division I can be in the building tonight for a playoff birth clincher! Never could have dreamed that back during training camp. LGFD!

Was the arena ever actually officially called Meadowlands Arena? I don't think it was. Maybe that was the working title as it was being planned for and built? Kind of like MetLife was ''New Meadowlands Stadium'' while it was being built and even shortly after it was finished. I think that's what a lot of people called it since it was in the Meadowlands sports complex and kept changing names. Don't get me wrong, I've called it Meadowlands Arena before, just for the fact that I mentioned, but it's never officially been called it.

But I guess they're not gonna put Brendan Byrne or Continential Airlines (which doesn't exist anymore) in on the scoreboard lol.
