its a big real estate playDon’t recall this many suitors for a team on previous teams that were sold.

The Sparks group makes me nervous because Neko Sparks is, at least publicly, a complete unknown. That doesn't necessarily mean he would make for a bad owner (Melnyk was a known commodity, after all), but I do want more information on who he is and how he came to front this group. It feels like there's a story here for somebody to write.
Mendes called him a film producer, but he has no major credits and six years ago was running a $10,000 Kickstarter to shoot a web series.
He runs a marketing/production services/AI(?) company, but a lot of people are in that space. Three years ago he was charging $65/hr for his (and his 2-10 person team's) work. https://www.upwork.com/o/companies/~01dce697d6e90048a8/
He runs Sparks Finance Group, but all the content on their website is password protected. https://www.sparksfinancegroup.com/sports-acquistions
I think LeBreton can jumpstart it,People underrate Ottawa, all I see are people moving in from all over the country/world. Half of Toronto moved to Ottawa during COVID.
Lebreton can jumpstart a "rebuild" of Ottawa and its image. It's a cultural town with many different things to do, but is sleepy by nature. I like the sleepy part, but there is no reason why downtown cannot be more fun.
Sens as an anchor to develop Lebreton - I think the latter is the bigger prize for anybody interested in buying the team.
Basically. You get a clean slate to build an entertainment district in a capital. Also, Canadian NHL teams rarely get sold. Not counting the Atlanta/Winnipeg move, it's the first time since 2009 when Molson bought the Habs from George Gillett.its a big real estate play
To make an entertainment district, they need to acquire more NCC land imo.Basically. You get a clean slate to build an entertainment district in a capital. Also, Canadian NHL teams rarely get sold. Okie dokieDepreciation expense does not hide profit.
Depreciation definition
Depreciation represents the estimated reduction in value of a fixed assets within a fiscal year. Tangible assets, such as buildings, equipment, vehicles and so on, are purchased in large lump sums.
Yes it does. Just not unfettered access. It's too early to read too much into this. We don't know how much these guys are investing, how big a role they would have, etc.
If Bill Gates invests in my company, it doesn't mean I will have access to Bill Gates's wealth.
Mr. Gates, how much would you say you spend on burgers in a month?Yes it does. Just not unfettered access.
It's less than the price of one corporate merger/acquisition per month, and you don't have to worry about those pesky antitrust lawsuits....Mr. Gates, how much would you say you spend on burgers in a month?
Answer the question Mr. Gates! It's less than the price of one corporate merger/acquisition per month, and you don't have to worry about those pesky antitrust lawsuits....
Aren't all the bids multiple owners? Comes with the territory when you start selling franchises for a billion dollars....I can see the league getting concerned with multiple owners because there is more risk of what happened with the coyotes 5% owner or some similar incident.
Yeah, acquainted from Red Notice, so why not bring Gal Gadot along too. Yes please. Why not both? They are acquainted afterall....

A ownership group with the Rock, Reynolds and potentially Alfie and infinite money to spend on the team ?
I just ed
Yes, that why there are bigger investors behind those names.you’re joking, right?
Do you honestly believe that IF these three Invest in a NHL franchise, that they would pour their own (infinite) money into the team?
I know that I Invest my money, to hopefully make more money, and not to pour more of my money into an Investment, just to see it succeed…. I am looking for a ROI, as would these three.

That’s what the real estate play is about, that’s why teams increase in value. 125 million to 900 million in 20 years. Excellent return on investment.so do you think the “Big investors” are going to pour their own money into the franchise, without any thought of a ROI?
The team is going to sell for close to 1B, a new arena is going to be built for north of 600M and you think they will nickle and dime the team? The ROI is the value of the franchise....you can see it, it's happening right now in the sale fer fcks sake. When they put money into the team, what will you say then? God your take on this is so old, espcially because yoh don't have a take on anything else. Like nothing else about the team interests you.so do you think the “Big investors” are going to pour their own money into the franchise, without any thought of a ROI?
