The most positive thing would be replacing an experienced GM with a totally inexperienced one?
Yes.

If there one thing we don't need, is Claridge involved in a massive development of that sort. would have been nice to bring in developers with fresh ideas/concepts from outside Ottawa.
I’d disagree and say his track record is pretty solid.Per the streets? Is this guy a legit insider?
Ya, for sure, just nice to dream. Was probably always going to be a local developer TBH.
it could be a good guess based on recent publications. But this guy is just a fan .. not an insiderI’d disagree and say his track record is pretty solid.
Good (and/or semi-logical) guessers often masquerade as legitimate sources or insiders these days. Welcome to the Twitter/social media world I guess.it could be a good guess based on recent publications. But this guy is just a fan .. not an insider
meh.. as long as we don't have a Shanaplan then I'll be happy.Happy with Andlauer - the Habs went through a cultural modernization in the mold of Kyle Dubas so it makes sense to me now:
Andlauer knew he’d win the bid early, wanting to bring in true cultural change to Ottawa he approaches Dubas about the opportunity it’s in Ottawa and the chance to truely impact a franchise in a way he can’t in Toronto with so many layers of myth and Beauraucracy - not to mention Dubas gets better security under new ownership, a better team, more power and influence and a prime market close to home and a chance to manager his boyhood team without the Toronto media pests in the background. Dubas will become POHO and Spezza takes over as GM in time. Like Vegas did.
Next week we will see a photo of Kyle Dubas in Sens pyjamas with a poster of the Pizza line on his wall and the caption “dreams come true”
I don't think he is trying to masquerade .. He started this per the streets thing a while back and he is just having fun with it.Good (and/or semi-logical) guessers often masquerade as legitimate sources or insiders these days. Welcome to the Twitter/social media world I guess.
After a little research the top half of the GMs had a net worth of $3 B or greater. I'm not claiming this is empirical based or absolute but it might give some idea or concept. You want a collective ownership group with net worth certainly north of $2B. A lot more, ideally. You don't want 80% of their net worth tied up in the franchise. It's like buying a $1M home and you are only personally worth $1.2M. That is not a smart investment given the cash requirements of maintaining your home etc.
You also want a principal owner as part of the group with very deep pockets and substantial cash flow to help invest in the organization when required. That is the challenge with the Sparks group. This is also the challenge various Sens owners in past have run into. Eugene in his early days has really been the only flush owner the organization has ever had, and that changed after about 5 years with his departure from Biovail and other financial hits he took. The Sens have felt that at every juncture.
Well, OK. My comment was a general in nature versus this specific person who I know nothing about.I don't think he is trying to masquerade .. He started this per the streets thing a while back and he is just having fun with it.
Well if this group is Andlauer + Malhotras + Jeff York+ others.. it is creeping near 2.5 billionAfter a little research the top half of the GMs had a net worth of $3 B or greater. I'm not claiming this is empirical based or absolute but it might give some idea or concept.
I’d be very surprised. Even if he’s correct, it’s a pretty easy prediction based on media coverage over the last week anyway. I remember this kid tried pushing that a Zaitsev trade was imminent in Oct 2022 because, “according to the streets”, someone saw a for-sale sign on Zaitsev’s property.Per the streets? Is this guy a legit insider?
Yes, that's worth considering. IF was an important word in that sentence though. You may be right of course. It will be nice when the dust settles and we actually get some real details regarding ownership. Again, in the ideal world, I'd be more comfortable with $3 + billion FWIW. You really need to get into the balance sheets of course versus using crude measures.Well if this group is Andlauer + Malhotras + Jeff York+ others.. it is creeping near 2.5 billion
Steve Staios next GM?
Since Andlauer won't officially own the team until August, will he ask the Melnyk girls to fire Dorion and hire Staios as GM say around June 1 so he can run the draft (basically pick who the scouts tell him to pick) and do free agency July 1? I doubt Andlauer wants lame duck Dorion trading players, making the Cat decision, and signing free agents.
I haven't seen anyone that I'd call a true insider in here. FWIW of course.I’d be very surprised. If we had a tier list of insiders, Benji is obviously S tier and Lalime’s Martian and Kevin Francis are probably in the E or F row.
Kevin Francis stands alone atop the Tower or Sens insiders.I’d be very surprised. Even if he’s correct, it’s a pretty easy prediction based on media coverage over the last week anyway.
