if Andlauer and Kimmels are 100M under the top bid i don't know if thats noise. 100m sounds nice.Andlauer and/or Kimel's will win. Everything else is noise.
I’m pretty sure hfboards gets a say too.if Andlauer and Kimmels are 100M under the top bid i don't know if thats noise. 100m sounds nice.
Maybe if its 2 or 3M under the top bidding price you look at if its the best option for the franchise or not. but 100M USD in this economy that will get capital gains tax exemption ? That serves the Melnky daughters, league, existing owners, galatico sports. and ultimately the team itself best interest.
So a Kimel/Andlauer ownership could involve:
Michael Andlauer
Kimel Brothers
The Weeknd
Jeff York's local consortium (10%)
Melnyks (10%)
(possibly) The Malhotras (Claridge)
Got to think if Andlauer and Kimel parter up Yorks and Malhotras will get slashed out of it.Getting to be a whole lot of hands in the pot. Not sure how that will work long term.

i think its steve apoloposolosloslososI'm assuming you're referring to the Sparks' bid which is a joke in all honesty. There is too many people involved which is a big detriment to their viability. Everyone knows the Senators at their current valuation are below the 1B mark.
It’s unfortunately on him. Remington has had red flags since 2012. They pulled the same shit when they were bidding for the Coyotes. My guess is that RR won’t sign on with Ottawa but will with another team in the future leaving Sens fans wondering what could have been.
My bet is that Andlauer wins and turns out to be boring and cheap but without EM’s volatile personality. RR would have given the team some groove.

a 1st and some prospect the GM can pretend are impact - see Matt Duchesne tradePenguins fan coming in peace (not love, but peace)
What’s the true price for Debrincat? And does it have to be an impact now player or futures is fine ?
I guess a Kimel/Andlauer ownership with local and First Nations partners would be the best case scenario. Astopolopoulos' last second decision to make a bid, working with Kypreos, and him basically trying to land any sports team that becomes available doesn't really indicate he's going to be the greatest owner.
Neko Sparks has too many questions and we don't need the controversy with the potential Saudi ties with the Reubens.
Ya, I'm hoping for the bonafide deep pocket owner as well. I fear that we'll have a lot of the same situation that we did before with a quasi rich owner (under $3 B based on a small amount of research).Dude is exceedingly wealthy and just wants to own a pro sports team, which leads me to believe he’s hands off. Kypreos thing is annoying but no clue if he’d actually be involved post acquisition.
Not sure why we’d want anyone else to win? The rest of the bidders are small fish in pro sports ownership terms and are likely to impose the same budget bullshit that we’ve come to detest.

Something like
Andlauer
Kimmels
Melnyks
Weeknd
but dont think those guys partner up Andluer is done being a minority owner and seems like the Kimmels dont have interest in it either.

What's the logic there? I'm not following it.Dude is exceedingly wealthy and just wants to own a pro sports team, which leads me to believe he’s hands off. ....

It doesn't, and all of this talk of groups getting together is fantasy. Rich dudes didn't get rich by "collaborating" on ownership - they buy stuff and run it themselves. The NHL also doesn't want a messy ownership situation where there are multiple squabbling partners. They want one clear majority owner with perhaps one partner - that's it.Getting to be a whole lot of hands in the pot. Not sure how that will work long term.
he's not saying RR is out for sure, he's saying he won't be looking to link up with any group until after the new owner is chosen.Ryan cmon bro please bro
Andlauer has Desmarais with him right? People here keep saying Desmarais wants hus shares of Montreal, but it keeps popping up that he is part of Andlauef on podcasts.Pretty much this the deepest pockets are the best asset we can get especially with the penny pinchers we had in the past. Forgive me if I don’t feel comfortable with Andlauer who has a similar net worth to Eugene.
Also it will be easier for him to get projects like the downtown arena and Kanata redevelopment done , isn’t that what the city wants ?
