Corrado with some thoughts on what the Sens will do with Yakemchuk and some other opinions at Sens TC
He could stay up for the 9 or longer I think the debate is around what is best for his development and the longer term view vs the shorter term possible benefits at this stage. I am not focusing on the TSN headline. There are arguments for both sides of this. At this point for me its about whether he gets some reg season games .. I agree he has played well enough to get some , so should the Sens get on with setting their roster and focus on the season or reward Yakemchuk with some games acknowledging that he may very well help contribute to early wins, if they plan to send him back regardless.Force feeding him would be giving him a spot if he was playing average or below average. "He hasn't earned it, but we want him here anyway."
If he stays, even just for 9 games, it's because he earned his spot.
I thought about it earlier too. I disagree. Get all the big boys against mtl. They’ll be ready and able to handle anything that happens. Really nothing to be afraid.Don’t like that we are playing our starters against Montreal on Saturday. Would have much rather given the easier game to our starters playing Detroit who is on their second in two nights.
Let our AHL team goon it up with the habs.
Yakemchuk in = good time
Wonder what the plan is with Tokarski? He's stuck around a long time.
I'm not entirely sure why they brought him in. There doesn't seem to be a job for him to compete for as far as I can see.Probably keep him till the last possible moment when they know both Ullmark and Forsberg are ready to start the year healthy.
What do you think?
Insurance in case of injury during pre-season?I'm not entirely sure why they brought him in. There doesn't seem to be a job for him to compete for as far as I can see.
Merrilainen was hurt and they wanted 5 goalies for camp. He got the PTO immediately after Merrilainen pulled his groin.I'm not entirely sure why they brought him in. There doesn't seem to be a job for him to compete for as far as I can see.
Would've like to see tokarski play half this game to compare forsbergMerrilainen was hurt and they wanted 5 goalies for camp. He got the PTO immediately after Merrilainen pulled his groin.
Yes, I also wonder what the thinking and plan was for Tokarski. Forsberg has looked pretty shaky, so who knows?I'm not entirely sure why they brought him in. There doesn't seem to be a job for him to compete for as far as I can see.
Was told he was a great pickup and a surefire roster player.
Is merelainen back? Does this mean they aren't signing Tokarski to a 2 way?
Weird he was on a PTOWas told he was a great pickup and a surefire roster player.
Yeah, wow Insurance for Forsberg being terrible or Ullmark being hurt might have been nice. Unless they plan on doing something with waivers.Would've like to see tokarski play half this game to compare forsberg
Merilainen played for Belleville last night in a pre-season game. They also have Sogaard and Simpson down there for now, so I guess that's it for Tokarski. Is merelainen back? Does this mean they aren't signing Tokarski to a 2 way?
Hope leevi steps it up! If there's an injury I'm terrified of Soogard.Merilainen played for Belleville last night in a pre-season game. They also have Sogaard and Simpson down there for now, so I guess that's it for Tokarski.
Who were the 3 better than him?Unpopular opinion:
From one pre-season to the pre-season Chabot went from our best defence man to our 4th best defencman. Good thing but that’s how it appears to be headed.
A similar question might be how he started the preseason as our best defence man when he clearly hasn’t been that since Sanderson passed him in early 2023.Who were the 3 better than him?
