to be fair he did play well in the playoffs. bad start to the season though.

He was pretty damn good yesterday. Not sure that constitutes a bad start, especially since he was far from the only one to have a rough game today.

Tavares just keeps getting worse and worse every season and the delusional f*** thinks he going to the Olympics . lol .

-Willie had another great game
-Bunting's a little slow but at least he gives an effort
-Muzzin/Holl too slow to play together
-Marner working hard but being held back by his linemates
-Ritchie , pretty obvious why Bos didn't qualify him and it wasn't the lame excuse being floated by some on this forum that they were afraid he was going to be awarded some monster deal in arb . lol
-Simmonds and Amadio , trash
-Sandin good offensively , crap defensively
-Kerfoot - his typical crap self and why we couldn't deal him
-Rielly/Brodie , solid game

IMO I watched the first two periods and wasn’t impressed by mrazek at all, that third goal cannot go in no matter what.
He saved us from 7-0 after the second period when he was hung out to dry.
I blame Francis.
Ron? Connie? McDormand? Scott Key? Sinatra?
I stopped watching...
Tell the truth --you don't actually watch at all.
It absolutely blows my mind that we didn't challenge. Absolutely indefensible.
Can that be challenged?

The Leafs were sloppy AF today but if this is a bad game for the Leafs, we are in a good spot.

I agree, it's only game 2, they played very well in the third (offensively), and there's a couple of gems for players (Nylander, Spezza, Campbell), but they haven't learned a damned thing from the playoffs. Atrocious defence, lackadaisacal starts to games, and an aversion to hit and skate. There are some players who should not play another game for the Leafs (Amadio, Simmonds) and others who need to play to their salary or capabilities (Marner, Tavares).

I used to really dislike Nylander because of how much he floated. This went back to his days with the Marlies. I used to go to a lot of Marlies games so I got to see him float in person, including in the playoffs, and it always bugged me. I wanted him traded, and traded immediately. But in the playoffs last year he changed my mind. He was engaged, and he cared. It was obvious. If only some of his teammates cared as much and gave as much effort.

I've always been a big Marner supporter and thought that, if he was developed properly, he had the potential to be the next Gilmour. But that has changed. He isn't as engaged as he should be, too often plays soft, and he flat out disappears in the playoffs. I never thought I'd say it, but they need to trade him - and they need to do it before they hit the 25 game point of this season.

I was the eternal optimist when it came to the Leafs. I always believed, I always had hope. But last year's playoff exit just did me in. I've finally had enough, and am having a tough time caring about this season. I want to, but I just cannot invest emotionally. Because of that, I haven't been paying much attention to hockey at all so I have no idea who potential trade partners could be - who has the need, the cap space, and the assets for a player like Marner. But they have to figure it out and swing a deal with any team that fits the bill. And no, Eichel is not an appropriate return due to his injury issues.

They also need to dump Dubas and Keefe, but that is another story.

I am a dubas fan but
This is now a 100% dubas team and y can kinda already see what this team might be like this season even though 34 is not in

I think I’m at the point where the dubas/Keefe experiment has failed and start looking at the next moves, prob starts with shanny no? Or is it a trio? This team isn’t going anywhere and that cap situation eh

Its only game two.

It was a back to back

We don't have Matthews

I DON'T CARE. Another 1st period no show. No urgency in the play. Marner invisible.

All the same issues we have had for years are still here and I don't think a few more games this season is going to change that...

it could get real interesting if they keep playing like they have. They are relying on some players to play and do things they haven’t consistently done. Some are inexperienced and some are just not good enough.

First two periods from us tonight were dreadful, the amount of scoring chances Ottawa had from the slot in the 2nd period was double digits.

Thought Rielly,Brodie,Nylander,Marner and Spezza had good games. Everyone else looked like a passenger out there tonight. Don't see what Amadio and Simmonds bring to the team, apart from Spezza tonight the 4th line has been very underwhelming. I'm not sure why Keefe went with the option to run it back with the same lineup tonight, thought could have put Lilly in tonight and get him in a game

Sucks Mrazek got hurt, if it wasn't for him in the second we would have been down 6-0. This has been a trend with Mrazek though, he's never been able to stay healthy.

highest CF% of 57.14%, highest FF% of 63.64%, highest SF% of 66.67%, highest xGF% of 79.05%, highest SCF% of 64.29%, highest HDCF% of 100%

that's not just on defense but the entire team

he dominated on both sides of the puck
yeah don't care about shot attempt stats but hey we have won the expected cup 3 years running , so that's has to count for something , lol

Spezza has actually sucked at ES both games this year. Like really bad. His PP game has made up for it a little bit.

Simmonds and Amadio had good metrics today (awful yesterday) but haven't really done anything worth keeping in them in the lineup right now.
