Up until the TDL I'd say this was a pretty boring team to watch.
Boy you guys have a short memory. This is by far the most exciting season we have seen in ages. Need I remind you, the majority of our wins are comeback wins. So if you think, it's just ho hum to be behind at some point in the game and come out on top, then what is it that really excites you?

Last night was another come from behind win. And ok granted, we thoroughly dominated play the entire game,... but I challenge anyone to say last night's contest was boring. Mind you, this with playing a team out of the playoffs, and not showing up.

You know what's really boring?.... Watching your team lose night after night, and listening to guys who don't know the difference.

How is it misery?

I'm enjoying the run while also advocating that more moves need to be made.

Or are you under the mistaken impression that too many falsely bought into that this is a finished product roster for the next 3 years?
Stop with the bullshit already. Moves ALWAYS have to be made.

And guess what (to use one of Joe's two favorite lead ins) if they WIN the Cup, they'll still need to make moves to extend the wondow. Jeez, it's an ONgoing process. Let's enjoy this season with what we have.

And if they don’t? What if they had spent Nils and Krav on rentals?

I’ve softened my tone considerably after they spent in a refrained fashion at the deadline and I said I gave Drury a B+.

That doesn’t change the fact that they desperately need two young centers and every move from now onwards (and in previous moves frankly) should be made to that end or with an eye on that end.

Yep. But then I root for the name on the front of the sweater. I mean I really enjoy cheering when the kids do well, but the team winning is more important to me.

Ironically I agree, which is why I don’t care if we had traded away someone like Kreider for Robertson and a first.

You're the one who brings up extreme trade ideas no one was pushing for. We can “what if” all day. What if we traded Nils or Kravtsov for a young center?

Then I’m in favor of it….? Is this a trick question?

Yes I am pushing us to do the things we need to do to win long term. Securing the future is important when your odds of winning this year are extremely long.

I agree that moves have to be made. I also agree that there is no such thing as a perfect roster. It’s apparent that you are willing to sacrifice success for perfection, where I am not.
I’m willing to sacrifice low odds this year for better odds in the future.

But it’s water under the bridge now and I am enjoying the run and I’m glad we wisely did not trade Krav/Nils for a rental JT Miller.

Still doesn’t change that we will have to trade for centers or otherwise acquire them soon. And if we do plan on riding through a three year “now” window with Panarin, Zibanejad, Kreider, Copp and Trouba, it’s all the more important that we find a way to get up in this draft for a three year away center who will be able to seamlessly step in come those three years when he’s 21 or 22.

Clearly @EdJovanovski has his favorite players and it doesn't matter if the team wins every game 10-9 if those players are no longer part of the team.

Who hasn't been through that? You think it was easy when they traded Messier, Leetch, or Kovalev,... or Cally, McDonagh, and Zucc? These were all heart and soul guys who bled Ranger blue.
