Russia = Great individuals, Bad team
Finland = Not so great individuals, great team

Finns played well and deserved to win. But please let's not pretend Russia didn't play well too. They had their chances but couldn't bury them.

A pretty good game to be honest.

I think his leg mustve gotten twisted when he was slowing down. I dont think the small slash would hurt that much
Yeah the fast stop likely affected it more thinking about it, the stick hit really didn't seem to be the direct damage dealer.

Eh doesn't really matter now I guess, hope it's nothing serious and woo Finland.

You can break the ligaments with slash. Dunno if it happened but behind the knee is weak spot.
You can even break bones like that. Mikko Koivu once had a broken leg from a similar slash.

I don't get why there aren't any Finnish coaches in NHL. People always say we overperform in international games, but I don't think it's a coincidence that our teams always perform better than the sum of its parts. This time around we also have young players who can perform when it counts.

Yesssssss!!!! Finland rules!!! I knew that we will win the Russians again in their home rink. Sorry to say, but Ovechkin in the Russian team makes me always even more confident that we will beat the Russians. He was again so bad. Not playing for the team at all. Needs a new nickname could be maybe Chokechkin. Sorry, but that is what he is about. Just keep admiring his regular season stats all you who praise him so much. But when the big games start this is how it goes.

Go Finland!!!!

Great game by team Finland. Really dictated the play without being flashy. Thoroughly impressed by Aho. Wishing you guys the best of luck tomorrow.

Team Russia on the other hand is simply frustrating to watch. Ovechkin is a net negative when he doesn't score. No wonder the Caps go nowhere. But it is not like the other players were any better today. Panarin and Shippy were just invisible.

Agreed. Retrospective "easiness" is perception fallacy. Russia made a game! Good luck in Bronze game!

Based on where Telegin was hit on the leg I'd say it was his common fibular nerve that got hit, in which case it's no wonder he wasn't able to skate afterwards...

E: only saw the replay once, but it looked like he got struck on the lateral side of his knee.

I couldn't disagree more. Ovechkin had a pretty good game and I have no idea what you are referring to with selfish. Are you sure you are not confusing him with the guy starting with K? :)

If Ovi would be Finnish and playing like that, he would be scratched, seriously.

Russias problem, too big names, not enough heart.

It mean a lot to the Fins to TKO the Russians on their home soil. And after my ten days in Saint Petersburg I guess the Fins may have run out of things to drink--man were their fans going hard at it

 No doubt

We take our drinking very seriously

We shouldn't be winning these games but still we have.

We didn't have lot of chances but they played like a team, Jalonen said they will defend with 5 players and they will attack with 5 players.
Sisu beating talent.

Perhaps you could lend a coach to your neighbour? Please. Pretty please.

Not familiar with international hockey. What was that ceremony at the end of the game with the flag raising? Shouldn't that all happen after tomorrow's game?
