GDT: Semifinals - May 21 - Canada vs USA

It's a 1 game tournament format. Kane might make the difference or he might not.

Ovechkin didn't make the difference but same lineups (FIN-RUS) - another game maybe he does make the difference.
 
Overall, not that bad of a period for the US. They had some high danger chances, just didn't finish. They're gonna lose the possession battle cause Canada just has more talent and depth, but some defensive mistakes really cost them. Some untimely pinches at the blue line and McCabe not making a play on Marchand in the open ice let to the goal. Gotta take advantage of this PP now though.

I thought McCabe played Marchand pretty well in his own zone though. Not his fault no one came back to pick up Ceci.

Big what if there. Gaudreau and Galchenyuk wanted to come but things didn't work out. Offense would go from meh to being really fun to watch. Like how these kids are competing though

Yes they had a good period , generating some quality chances...BUT they probably can't afford to trade chances with Canada...plus the way we can roll 4 lines and even sub in 13th forward=Domi...Gotta think those young Yankees will be gassed by the third...
 
Good period. Kill the penalty off then keep the momentum going. The USA actually didn't look that bad in the 1st.

They got rid of our goal song. I wanted to hear "We dem boyz" it was growing on me.
