WJC: Semifinal post-game talk

Slovakia will take the Bronze, here's my logic. Czech's beat Russia 4-1. Slovaks beat Czech's 3-0. Therefore SVK>RUS.

This isn't the same Sweden team that we played in the pre-comp. They have good goaltending and a ton of confidence now.

No doubt, but Canada has an improving McDavid who each game is getting stronger and more impactful. As anyone who follows him knows, McDavid was a mere shadow of himself at the start of the tournament. If Canada gets by Slovakia, their opponents in the final will have to deal with the real McDavid. That will give Canada two dynamic lines supported by a large, mobile defence. Only goaltending, their's and their opponents', can stop this team.

Good luck trying to beat us at our game. Canada has like 4 guys who could easily steamroll any player in this tournament.

Have to agree with you the swedes should bring a few of this guys aswell! ppl like Murray! may not be the best player but damn they can really put fuel to the team! with their hard hitting hockey.

Our Big Boyz line is Guathier, Ritchie and Crouse. They can definitely bring the pain. Ritchie and Crouse can snipe too ( and Crouse is only 17! ). Alas, Gauthier can’t pull the trigger ( not at this level of competition ), Virtanen and Duclair both have mean streaks. ( and Duclair coulda easily, easily have had 3 or 4 goals last game, man was he snake bit! ). Lazar can bang and Paul sure looks like he could ( both can snipe ). On D, Nurse can do it all, plus he too has a mean streak. As for Morin? That’s one scary looking dude!

Canada-Sweden seems like a fair final! They haventh lost a point and plays a offensive game who is fun to watch.

Canada has everything to lose in such a final and McDavid hasnt blowned me away (denmark arent exactly a elite hockey nation ). More impressed of domi, duclair, reinhart and Nurse.

Sweden has everything to win against a heavy favorite with home disadvantage (thinks its only a pressure but could give them a ref advantage). Both teams special teams has been excellent and i thinks that the goalie gonna decide such a final.

I said before the tournament- that the final will be a rematch between the two countries that played in the 2014 Sochi games (still cannot believe that was 11 months ago, as it seems it was yesterday).

Anyways- i think Sweden beats Russia, but i am now hoping the Russians can pull off the win, so we can have a great Canada- Russia Gold Medal Game. However- i do believe it will be Canada vs. Sweden both winning on Sunday like i originally predicted, with the result the same as Sochi, with Canada winning Gold.

Slovakia will be hard pressed to beat Canada. Sweden has been more consistent than Russia has been, though Russia looked a bit better when they played each other. I think Canada and Sweden win.

I think when we look back at this tournament in 3-4 years, we will realize how great and special this team was. There are so many future NHL'ers on this team. Reminds me a bit of the 2005 team. Appeared like the strongest entry on paper in years, certainly better than the 09 Ottawa team.

Reinhart lines one of the best lines I've seen in this tournament. Memory may be blurry though

My opinion about the team has nothing to do with Jantelagen. I just didn't believe the team would be any good this year. I'm glad they've proved me wrong.
