Is Russia really the favorite? Which team plays more as a team and has the Einstein as a head couch? Finland. If the Finns play better together and our a avarage forwards manage to score (like Manninen yesterday) we could definetely win it.

Jokerit headed by this genius does not look impressive though.
Milos Riha got much better results when worked in the second-rate team Atlant

Russia played like sh+t against the US. If they repeat that performance, Finland will kill them.

Go Suomi!

Well, Americans played their best game at the tournament vs Russia, better, than against Finland, when they won in OT, and they still lost, despite "Russia played like shit". And you're still sure, Finland will kill Russia. Isn't it kinda... strange?

Is Sergachev still being used on pp1? Noticed that he has been getting fairly low ice times all tourney. Is he being utilized as pp specialist?

Yes, he is on PP1. But Russia had only one PP opportunity yesterday.

Judging by the sizeable number of pro-Finland posts in this thread, Russia is an underdog.

Unfortunately we don't have Leo Komarov. He can piss off any russian player under seven seconds. Now Tyrväinen has to try to do the same.

Hopefully the Russians learned something from yesterday's difficult win, so they won't be too cocky to let an upset happen. More discipline and team work, less attempted individual heroics!

Russia seems to play much more like a team, compared to some previous years. That, combined with the super-star offence, is a deadly combination.

I was wrong about the Finland/Sweden game already but I can't see how Finland could beat Russia in this one. The roster gap on offence between the teams is staggering. And Lankinen hasn't shown otherworldly skills, so a miracle performance is not likely.

Team Finland already exceeded my expectations so I can just lean back and relax, watch the game

Well, some of my fellow country men can be quite vocal and biased around these forums, but i guess it is ok to be bit biased in games like these

Russia is definitely the favorite here. No doubt about that. This is most certainly different Russian team than those few years when you could detect some bad team spirit amongst Russian team members, e.g. the whole Ovie - Malkin debacle.. but now they are being best buddies, so it is scary combination. Not to mention Art Ross season Kucherov and fresh Vezina winner Vasilevskiy. Russia is a tough egg to crack.

But then again, anything can happen in one game 'series'. Some of the Finnish non-NHL stars will give all they got just to prove themselves in front of their NHL idols.

Finland is very unlucky that Rask is NA.

But anyway, Finland has always been Russia's most challenging opponent in world championships. So this shouldn't be easy for the bear

Russia had 40+ shots, not sure what you’re talking about

Except for Gusev's line, Russia hasn't done anything good in that game. The US really sucked in the first period, which decided the outcome of the game. After dominating performance against Sweden, Russia was very beatable against the US.
