Exciting game to watch as a Finn. Part of me would prefer playing against Russia in the final but another part of me would like to see the clash of 2016 top 3 draftees. Well, hopefully this will be decided by great plays by the winning team and not by devastating mistakes by the losing team.

On a sidenote, Matthews has been rather silent this far. Of course he has 20mins of time to be the difference-maker.

USA needs to step it up. Matthews line mates need to be better. White is having a rough game right now. Too bad that penalty was a carryover. Really messed up what would have been sustained pressure.

Russians have extra incentive vs Americans, it's not always US struggling, Russia steps up their game. Americans peaked.

8 minutes of PK time vs 0 for Russia. He's having to deal with tired defenders and maybe using guys in situations he'd rather not in a way Russia hasn't had to so far. Hopefully this PP can swing momentum back in the US's favor.

I was starting to wonder where Korshkov's head was, but he was a monster in the 2nd period. His goal was a thing of beauty. I hope that line can keep going, and that the Kamenev line adds some offense as well. The USA has so many slick goal scorers that they have to stay all over them at all times. Can't let up for a breath!

Matthews plays in Switzerland while McDavid played in the OHL. USA and Canada only played one game this tournament. What are you expecting from people?

The USA has had some awful stretches in this game, easily their worst game of the tourney. Hopefully they have a better 3rd period. PP on fresh ice is a good way to start.

Reason is that almost all guys from KHL plays against mature men, so here they just enjoy the game

Have to say after Russia never bothered to put anyone in front of the net for that 2:00 minute 5-3 and never got a good scoring chance I thought they were in trouble.
Looks a lot different now.

I was impressed with Russia's ability to keep the US forwards to the outside for most of the period.

The US defence was having a lot more difficulty.

We cant ignore the fact that at some point something has broken in a US' game. They did not play like they did in a 2nd period for the whole tournament. I just can t understand what happened with them.

I'm a leafs fan, and aside from this this forum, the leafs forum is the only other one I read.

The leafs fans feel his is the greatest thing since sliced bread...all I read about is how he would change the team and how amazing of a (generational player) he is.
