I know in Canada we are all about hockey, but I can't imagine having a USA hockey game not on standard USA cable television.

I totally understand not everyone has the NHL network....

If it isn't the Olympics. The Americans don't care.

Our boys were looking too nervous on that PP, trying to make some kind of perfect play, though Polunin almost got rewarded, Nedelkovich came up with a huge save. Russia needs a goal pretty badly right now, our defence is looking very shaky, letting the US offence have too much space.

Yeah, what's good is that we did create some pretty damn good scoring chances, but chances are chances, we need goals.

If the defense keeps playing this badly, it could get real ugly! There is a mismatch when you have some of the quick US forwards against guys like Mikulovich and Zhuldikov. How could Mikulovich let a forward cross the blue line along the boards and literally skate around him to make a pass to an uncovered forward at the front of the net. Its hard to compete for championships without defensemen who are at least adequate skaters. We're lucky to be down by only one, so there is always a chance for a reversal. Mikulovich was the worst defenseman in the Super Series, and he has been the worst in the WJC. Bragin should consider shortening down to 4 defensemen to keep the bad ones off the ice.

They definitely could've played better, I think the Russians might've felt the refs are trying to 'make it too easy' for them, whereas they would like to 'fairly' score, might've been some kind of mental block there.

What is the reputation of American Hockey in the States?

It's not even a Hockey country to begin with, and there's been 2 Olympic gold Medal wins in 23 Olympics. Lol I'm guessing there's a reason Hockey isn't popular to begin with if there's been little success at the highest level.

90% of Americans couldn't tell you a single hockey player. The ones who are hockey fans are extremely loyal, it's just that the other 90+% that hop on bandwagon in Olympics. Doubt many care or remember how we did at Sochi.
