U18: Semi-Finals at the U18!

It's not often you see a game where one team manages to pick up two fivers.

Well it isn't over yet - Canada of any team has had a history of coming back in these sort of international tournaments. Willander's been IMO the best Swedish d-man so not just the advantage but with him out, they have an opportunity here.

All of Sweden's D has been good this game, though. I've noticed Bergström a lot.

Fair enough. Good luck in the GMG. :)
I wouldn’t throw it in until after the major penalty is over. Canada could score 2 or 3 and be right back in it with all momentum. Junior players get a bit angsty when defending a lead. That’s also Sweden’s best defender out for the game now. Don’t know much about the forward that went out earlier but he was playing powerplay so probably at least decently important.

Nordh's line was particularly effective at grinding and cycling, then funneling pucks to the net. Losing him is certainly a loss, not vestigial.

Okay, NOW it is officially over. ;)

I think the big difference between these two teams is cohesion. Too many individuals for Canada

Stenberg and Edstrom have really made a statement in this tournament. Same with the big three on D. Canada can’t match that top line and Sweden’s backend is far better

Sweden-USA rematch will be a banger of a final tomorrow

The GMG should be great.

IIRC, the U.S. was expected to smoke Sweden last year. This year's GMG game looks far more evenly matched.

And defense. You see what happens when the defense can't defend or move the puck.

Sweden looks very comfortable. They won’t be phased by the star power on the top USNDTP line. For the Americans, you wonder if having it so easy against all this bad competition could create some issues against a team that makes you pay for mistakes. They won’t be able to skate around defenders so easily tomorrow.

Dower Nilsson's so close to being a great prospect but... Will be interesting to see who picks him and how his development from here on goes.

They've been on a collision course! Should be a great game. Surprised by this game though.

I want to see what happens when the US defense is getting cycled hard. No one has really done much of that to them - partly because the forwards transition so well (as does Hutson), but there are going to be some stretches when the US is going to need to find out how to deal with the Swedes grinding like pros.

Very unimpressed by Canada. I thought this Canadian age group was supposed to be really good?
