Refs win again!!!! **** you teams, **** you players and **** you fans! It's the refs world and you're just living in it! #TeamRefs
For 13 years in a row the refs have f-ed Sweden. What did you guys do to make the IIHF so pissed?

There was no bad play. Sandin had position. The Russian player got the shot off on an angle, and Alnefelt let in a shot he should’ve saved. You could tell by his reaction he knew he should’ve saved it.
Still, it’s an interpretation thing. I saw it as a bad read. It’s the first thing that Ferraro commented on too. But the point is, even if people are seeing it as a bad play, who exactly said he’s terrible here as you claimed in your post?

What a game!!! Congrats to Russia. Swedes are vikings and battled hard, but russia was equal if not a bit better.

You always finish first in your group in that time span, though, so that’s far from a crowning achievement, beating up Slovakia or someone.
Disagree.. that 53-0 record is phenomenal and they earned the easier quarter. Every year they've had at least ONE other hockey power in their pool. It's amazing.

We got past the QF every year besides one since 2006. We always do
This isn’t the biggest accomplishment by any stretch. There are four semi finalists every year and in reality only five countries have a legitimate chance to make the semi final in this tournament.

Sweden had the puck for the first 2 minutes straight in OT, did nothing except sending Fagemo in on a semi-dangerous chance, then made a bad change and left Sandin to get walked by Morozov.
You could see Morozov bang his stick, he wanted that puck from Podkolzin, he knew he was going to do something

That's a peewee move. He shouldn't have done that.

It’s a shame because a positive record like that starts to become a negative thing as the slump gets longer.

No, of course the 53-0 record is ridiculously amazing. I was talking about their success in the QFs in that time period - due to their flawless record, always meeting a very weak opponent, so not something to call home about.

I ****in love to look like a fool with this one. The boys deserved this win. This is the best russian junior team I have witnessed since Ovechkin/Malkin days. Genuinely enjoyed every bit of their hockey this year.
The team that lost to Finland in OT in gold medal game was arguably just as good

Not sure where everyone elses feed went but the TSN Sportscentre was all Russian hilarity...

Svechnikov tosses his opponents stick into the stands and gets a penalty
Post game, Kuzsnetsov says the media won't praise Samsonov as one of the best goalies in the NHL because he's Russian

Gotta love the passion lately

Ya, Kuznetsov's comment makes me think he posts on hf.

Heartbreaking, by in the end well deserved win for the Russians. Let's hope we get a chance to beat Finland in the bronze game now :)

So predictable

Sandin was their best player all game. Doesn’t prevent 1 shot the goalie should’ve saved and he’s awful.

Wow the bolded is some serious spin.

People are certainly gonna discuss a player getting beat 1on1 in OT of an elimination game.

And you can’t assume your goalie to save that, that was a really good chance he got.

Came back from 3-1 too. Crazy game... it's definitely happened but it's hard to win a game when you've pulled your goalie.

It's gold or nothing! They should remove the Bronze medal game from tournaments tbh.
If both teams show up to play it'll still be a great hockey game. Might be hard for them to rise for it, but I think they should try.

Huh? Sandin let him skate right into the slot. Sandin has a great game, but there’s no denying he got burned bad on that game winner.

Mostly scored pro hockey goals like hes been doing all his amateur career. No brainer 20+ goal scorer.

We have a lot of those guys in our system now.

Going to be interesting to see who ends up making the team and who gets moved.

Anyway, I don’t really care about Shane Pinto. The tournament is about much more than my team’s prospects.
