Russia is nearly doubling them in shots and they are only in the game because Askarov has been terrible.

again, the goalie is part of the team. And also, the quality of many of those shots from Russia aren't overly dangerous, a few of them that have been have been neatly saved by the swedish goalie, he is also part of the team.

The 3-3 score reflects the game fairly accurately IMO.

No... No he is not. He is good and has had a terrific game today, but he is not "far and away the best player in this tourney". He is surely among the best players and certainly among the best defensemen, but far and away is reeeaally pushing it.

In 2002, the US were given 11 power plays in the Gold medal final of the women’s tournament and Canada still won.

You can overcome the refereeing with a good PK.
