Russian player appeared to be almost knocked out yet is back on hte ice straight after and assists the PP goal.

Was he embellishing, or do we just care that little about concussions in this sport?
What is "straight after" or acceptable for you? It sure looked like he was out of the action for whole of the 1st period but sure, you know better.
That's about 40 minutes to figure out if he sustained any major damage for professional medical staff, mind you.

Enbarrassed by fellow swedes trying to downplay Hoglanders hit. That was as clear match penalty as they come.

The incident happening during first minutes of the game could be a factor when further punishment is gets discussed.
Hoglander has effectively already missed a whole game, which should factor in.
Yep moronic from Höglander.

Both of these teams look really jittery and are thus making many mental mistakes. Whoever calms down first wins

I know I just woke up and had a late night, but this looks suspiciously like terrible hockey.

Now please use a good example where we need actual context on headshots that wouldn't happen without the player initiating the contact upwards with his hands himself, this situation is NOT comparable to someone falling down and someone hitting that fallen player to the head because of the sudden movement. He had all the time to line him up correctly.

He might have not meant to do what he did, but he absolutely hit the head and was rightly ejected, he was at fault at there being a head contact.

Hockey is an extremely fast game where often everything happens in literally milliseocnds. When you're about to hit someone in a situation like this and it happens so fast that you can't even process the thought in your head before you're about to hit them, then you're operating on instinct. Namely what comes naturally to you which in that situation is probably to raise your arms and to brace for an impact with another player.

The problem is these rules don't care about any event leading up to the hit (player was bracing himself for a hit to prevent injury to himself and unfortunately the collision resulted in injury to the other player), they just care about the result (hit to the head). There needs to be context just like a person who goes on trial for murder can often have a justified reason for killing someone like they were fighting for their life etc. rather than saying 'You murdered someone and it doesn't matter that you were fighting for your life, you're going to prison for life'.

I will forever find it confusing that people get upset about TSN....A Canadian broadcast being biased towards....Canada. Don't like, find somewhere else to watch it?
The little TSN bias for Canada has never bothered me personally, and as you said, it's a Canadian broadcast targeted at Canadian viewers. If only these people knew what kind of homers the commentators in other countries are like.

Wow, Ferraro talking about Romanov’s fantastic defensive play.

How is that even possible if he hates the Russians so much?

Must have been possessed by the ghost of Vladimir Lenin for a couple of seconds.

Ferraro was chanting Go Sweden Go, not complimenting Romanov. Not sure what you’re hearing!

That's not a good or an accurate way of describing the hit, he deliberately raises his hands AND moves into the lane of the Russian player to complete his hit. None of what you bring out have anything to do with checking someone correctly, it really seems like you're trying to alleviate the effect of Höglander himself initiating pretty much the whole of the contact. Nobody is arguing and saying that he didn't brace for impact. He did. But in the absolute worst way.
