Bob McKenzie says Hoglander was acting from a defensive position

Sweden needs to stop taking penalties. Impossible to get anything going 5v5 if you're taking a penalty every other minute.

That being said, the last pen was a terrible call.

Enbarrassed by fellow swedes trying to downplay Hoglanders hit. That was as clear match penalty as they come.

The incident happening during first minutes of the game could be a factor when further punishment is gets discussed.
Hoglander has effectively already missed a whole game, which should factor in.

Lol @ everyone chirping Askarov. Even good players have bad games. Especially juniors can be shaky.
There is obviously a reason hes expected to go high in a good draft later this year, even if he hasnt showed it this game so far.
Yep, but Miftakhov has been good, not sure why they are pushing it with the young guy when he's been shaky.

If not that stupid penalty from Romanov... First stupid play from him at the tournament, and in the semifinal. Oh, well, he's 19 year old, even if his game looks way more mature in the whole.

That 5 min and a game changed the whole picture, Sweden out with their topscorer and pp set up guy, looked stunned, and then their goalie let in 2 stinkers, good for them that Russian goalie let them stay in the game.

I think Sweden will come back and make a game of this, just need to come back to their organised style and not take stupid penalties!

That goes without saying but they have even bigger issues I think.

This is a damn good Russian team.
Yeah, but you couldn't see what Sweden could do after 2 power play goals and a goalie mistake goal. I clearly see what they can do. Get more disciplined and don't gamble on risky plays.

Replace Romanov with Höglander in this post and you have my thoughts. :D
