As for the refs discussion, naturally I'd say refs being from the same nation as one team would if anything hinder that team (as the refs would likely overcompensate to appear partial). However, everything seems to be going Canada's way this game, including all calls from the refs/linesman.

I’ll actually agree here and say it should’ve been a penalty but it’s honestly pathetic how some of you are watching this game, just looking for Canadian penalties 24/7 and calling every Canadian penalty not a penalty.

If not, making too much of a short tournament isn't a great idea. Goalies are tricky but Askarov has the better pedigree by far.

But anyway. Even you have the best team (which will most probably win the gold medal) in the tournament doesn’t mean it’s just fine all the referees are Canadians.
