I think I would take Aho before Eichel at this point of the career.

Interesting to see how Hurricanes will blow past Sabres on the playoff race.

no hes not lol

and I'm a big aho fan
He's better than Larkin, but not better than Barkov IMO. But the gap is closing. Barkov is still better in defence. Will see in the future what Petterson is made of.

Aho aint no scrub at defence. +15 on a -team tells a lot. He also plays most SH-minutes by the forwards on Canes

I know that Aho is semi-god about defending. He's such a smart player. I just think that Barkov is still little better at this point.

McDavid didn't make the playoffs and the Flyers underachieved despite Giroux finishing 2nd in league scoring. Malkin is not indisputably the best player on his team. Diff b/t hall and 3rd place kuch was 7 points, tampa was stacked while the devils were dragged screaming into the post season by hall and his unofficial point streak.

Even if aho finishes 90+ and 25/40 more than 2nd and 3rd place scorers on the team, kucherov is likely ahead by nearly 40 points. And aho doesn't have halls point streak.

Before you ignore my conclusion read this and I will tell you why.

Sebastaian Aho has currently 21 + 30 = 51 points in 45 games. There is a big difference from the rest of the team. 2nd Teuvo Teravainen has 38 points and 3th Justin Williams 27 points. Also Sebastian Aho has +15 when players like Justin Williams has -14 Dougie Hamilton -13 Jaccob Slavin -12 and Jordan Staal -11.

Sebastian Aho is the Carolina Hurricanes and he has no support just like Taylor Hall last year and he won the Hart Trophy with 93 points. Sebastian Aho is probably gonna have at least 93 points.

I'm not telling Aho is better than Kucherov, McDavid, MacKinnon, Rantanen or Gaudreau for example. Aho is not gonna be Art Ross finalist but Hart Trophy - sure.

Kucherov has Point, Stamkos, Hedman and Vasilevski.
McDavid, well the Oilers doesn't look like a playoff team.
Rantanen and MacKinnon have each others.
Gaudreau, well there are 5 point per game players in Calgary!!

Carolina Hurricanes is a minus team but still Aho has +15 and the Canes have a good chance to go to the playoffs. And if the Canes are going to the playoffs - Sebastian Aho gotta be a Hart Trophy finalist and maybe even a winner if he keeps going like this.

Thank you for reading and please respect my opinion and don't start talking about Marner

No. Not even close.

Now Sebastian Aho has 24 + 36 = 60 points and +18 in a minus team!! And the Canes are 3 points from the wild card spot. Honestly this guy is carrying the team to the playoffs. Definitely Hart worth.

There's no special honour in being the only above average player on your team. Give it to someone who is thriving individually but also contributing to major team success.

About 15 guys are pacing for over 100 points. It'll be one of them that win.

If Aho could crack 90 points even, I'd be an accomplishment

I'm pretty sure he will crack 90 points if healthy. He is getting hotter and now having 15 points in last 10 games. So he is on pace 95 points atm. Cracking 100 points is totally realistic but we will see.

Sebastian Aho is actually 15th in points so you are saying he is one of them :D

Not really. Plus it would go to Connor McDavid before Sebastian Aho.

Yeah sure if Oilers are going to the playoffs but I doubt.

How? I don't think there's any factual evidence supporting the claim that Barkov is better than Aho at anything.

As it stands, Aho's accomplishing more with less.

I heard Monahan is a worthless passenger, well below guys like Horvat and Lindholm is a useless bum with inflated numbers....so Johnny does it all and deserves the Hart...

Aho is indeed the most valuable player for his team. Only a fool could contest this; even the stats prove it plain and simple. He will not win the reward, though.

He might still do the same what Taylor Hall did last year.

Absolutely. To me Aho is the Hurricanes entire offence. Not just that he is also a great penalty killer and leader. Guy is a top player in the game.

Yeah indeed. Imagine if he would play in teams like Tampa, Toronto, Calgary... Points would be much higher. But now he is showing that he can do everything on his own also!

If Taylor hall was able to win it over McDavid, no reason why Aho couldn't win it since he is in a similar situtation where he is single-handedly carrying his team into playoffs. It's brutal he has double the points that his team's 3rd best scorer has.

But that being said, at the moment I wouldn't bet on Aho winning it. He needs to keep his 95 points pace and possibly even increase it since many players will most likely be breaking 100 points mark this year.

Last week I was told here that if it isn’t clear to me that Aho is going to better and more influential then McDavid very soon, I must not watch or understand hockey.
