Speculation: Seattle Expansion Draft Thread.......

If the krakheads don’t get one of Clague, Grundstrom or Strand, the hockey gods will have shown the Kings their good favor. If one of them does go, it probably doesn’t change the trajectory of the “rebuild”. But it has the hallmarks of a Hickey, Pearson, and Colin Miller level of lost value, respectively.

Going by the Mayors list, I’d be ecstatic if an NHL spot was cleared with one of Wagner, Lizotte, or Maata out the door next Wednesday.

NHL mock expansion draft: Projecting the Seattle Kraken’s 30 picks

Four predictions for the ED - One has Kings losing Wagner, another losing Clague and two show Lizotte. I know this means nothing, but glad that writers are predicting others (Wags and Lizotte) as opposed to my feeling that Clague is 100% gone.
Taking Lizotte or Wagner would be a gift from Seattle. The only way they take either one of those two is if they have a buyer. I would take Moverare over either one of those guys.

I wonder how much bluffing is going on with Francis.

Just as an example:

Maybe he doesn’t want Giordano but still says give me your first and I won’t take him.

No one truly knows what Seattle is thinking. Do they go with someone that has speed? Have they seen enough of Clague to pick off based on potential? Do they feel Lizotte has the most 'grit' from all available? Or do they go with the "sure" thing in Lemieux? Maybe they feel Quick can take them to the promise land if they feel comfortable with all their other picks in front.

So Seattle needs to get to a $60M cap floor - which high priced picks or UFAs will they select?

Hamilton?
Saad?
Landeskog?

Others?

I think seeing this flurry of trades today between the existing franchises, other GM’s are politely telling Francis to f*** off regarding his prices.

I think the fact that Hamilton’s agent has been listening for offers for weeks but he hasn’t been traded suggests he’s going to Seattle.

Kinda sucks if Seattle get Sergachev while we stayed idle on the sidelines.
Tampa is really in a bind we should be on them for a forward or D man.

Kings can't really do anything right now. If they acquired another player it would mean another player would need to be protected. Leaving a player we don't want to lose exposed.

Gotta wait and see who they can move after expansion. It always was and is a long shot.

Worse case they can go 4-4-1, lose a forward to expansion and maybe buyout Johnson. They will be fine and under the cap by around 5 million. Their D core is solid and can put togther a solid bottom 6 with the young kids. Maybe add a cheap vet or 2. They are not in bad shape, don't see any way they make Sergachev available, I think that ship has sailed.
