I can picture some companies/corporations firing executives for trying to make a "good communication" point regarding the attacks. But then again -- I'd also think that said company wanted to get rid of said executive for other reasons and that the point was the straw that broke the camel's back.

I don't think McD making this comment is enough to fire him per se........unless he's done other borderline things. Which if he has..........one would have to think said instances would have been unearthed well before now.

But then again.......it took 3+ years for this comment to be unearthed.................

At which point in time he was being lauded, both internal and external to the organization, as a Head Coach of the Year finalist.

If he used a Hitler example maybe we'd have a Super Bowl already
Hitler was more of a top dog and his henchmen like Eichmann would be a better fit for large budget project management lessons. I think a junior college coach got in trouble for telling a german exchange studen that he'll be his Hitler.

I think McD wanted that fellowship of the ring feeling where the underdog somehow manages to destroy the Ring and Saurons forces with luck and perfect co-ordination.

Does Dunne have a single named source? Or is it all anonymous?

You've been hoping for Rivera for awhile but I don't see the appeal. He hasn't had a good defense in ages despite pouring significant resources into that side of the ball.
Wade Phillips had the same issue. But when left to just coordinate a defense, he was amazing.

I see Rivera the same way.

Remember when many here started referring to Ralph as a hockey terrorist?

McDermott is literally a football terrorist.

“O-line. You need to block better. Just imagine you are on the front lines of the SS and it’s up to you to stop the Allied Forces from breaking through”

I mean, it's a pretty obvious guy with an ax to grind trying to drive for clicks.

I think McDermott shares a ton of blame for what is going wrong, as does any head coach when expectations aren't met.

The W-L record speaks for itself though. Most of his key points are just conjecture with weird ass stories about bad examples he's used in the past.

There are 53 men on the roster and 100+ in training camp. Over 6+ years, you'll find ex players who will shit on the guy.

The guy has just took any credibility and sources he had and just shat them away. Hopefully he'll get enough substack followers because he isn't getting a real sports journalism job in the next decade.

Also, the Patriots helping the Bills and hurting themselves at the same time. Thanks I guess?

NE winning would be huge for Bears fans wanting the top pick in the draft and terrible for AFC East teams that know Chicago will pick the wrong QB so the better one will end up in NE, lol

LOL the Patriot who jumped was beside himself because he knew he f***ed up. In comes the ref to the rescue with the phantom false start. I just can't even with the incompetence sometimes.

Nate Geary needs to ask for a Hooked on Phonics book for Christmas, because that post was brutal.
Glad it wasn't only me who had to read it twice and even then with questionable comprehension.
Sean "ALLLAH AKBAR" McDermott

How was he not already fired for this? He's got to be gone now that this is public right?
REallY?

Today is Pearl Harbor Day. What if, today, he used the example of the unity and determination of the thousands of Japanese soldiers and civilians on the North Marianas island of Saipan throwing themselves off the island cliffs to their deaths rather than being taken prisoner by the American forces? Is that a fireable offense?

What if he read Alfred Lord Tennyson's Charge of the Light Brigade to the Bills as an example of sticking with the game plan and doing your best even if it was brutally apparent the game plan was literally fatally flawed from the opening kickoff?

Now, if on November 18th McDermott had passed around Dixie cups of Koolaid for a 45th anniversary Jim Jones in Jonestown, Guyana Peoples Temple-like-toast to McDermott as a symbol of fidelity to him as their leader, I might have pause.
It's pretty anti-intellectual to attach those sympathies to what he said. Like, it's amusingly bizarre that he chose an obviously controversial example but it doesn't mean anything beyond that he chose a bizarre example. (Not addressed at you but the general response from many).
Exactly.
Bass: “Coach, should I kick it short or into the end zone?”

McD: “Consider what Ted Kaczynski did right. How can that help us here?”
I laughed.
If he used a Hitler example maybe we'd have a Super Bowl already
I laughed harder.

Watched to a short today by Ryan Fitzpatrick talking about how much he hates Tom Brady and the joy he had beating him while with Buffalo, NY Jets, and Miami. It was hilarious.

Captain Diggs. Im a fan.

Let's root for the flawed but repentant fools that chose the impossible buffalo dream. If we dont doubt them and trust they've worked it out in house. F the masons etc. we might go 5 and 0

My personal thoughts on the future of McD in Buffalo have not been affected by this story, especially a poor analogy he used in 2019.

The biggest thing for me at this point is what do the player in the locker room right now, especially the core guys that will be back next season, think. The other is will he be willing to adjust his thoughts of how you need to lock down games. McD believes in his defense more than Josh Allen and the offense. That is a huge problem. But, one that could be fixed.

Team got good in 2020. So I guess at the end of the day, team got over it. No sense in us calling for his head over something in 2019.
