So, a few thoughts:
1) The Jets are a team in crisis. So it's hard to pump the tires of the defense too much. But...they did their job tonight. Other than the play at the end of the 1st half, they got nothing going.
2) Josh played a pretty much low risk game tonight. Other than the time they told him "Go out and throw a dumb hero ball" at the end of the 1st, the riskiest throw he made as that ball to Shakir which was an 81 yard TD. They ran the ball well. They didn't force the ball to Diggs. he took the easy throws.
3) Overall, we are in week to week mode. Our most important game is next weeks game.
I think, realistically, we have 2 losses left if we want to make the playoffs.
A few positive thoughts:
- Philadelphia will be on a short week and thanksgiving at home. I am hoping they win big vs KC and come unprepared.
- We have a bye week before KC as well, hoping we will get some more bodies.
Overall, I think the most optimistic is:
You split Philly/KC. That puts you at 7-6
Then you have Dallas, @ LAC, NE, and @ Miami. You want to go 3-1.
At 10-7, that SHOULD be a wild card team.
If you go 4-0, that is an outside chance at the division.
IF we can make the playoffs, we will be playing our best ball as the season ends. I mean, you can kind of see a confluence of events that could be happening. We are getting the secondary receivers going. Shakir and Kincaid have been getting more targets. You can get Davis going. Diggs will always eat coverage. And Knox is returning soon. And there's Von Miller who is still essentially rehabbing. Jones comes back. Maybe Milano returns for the playoffs.
That doesn't mean anything if we don't start stringing together wins though. Start winning. Don't stop winning. Just win. Doesn't matter how, win.
