So glad to see my man Shakir play well. Keep getting him the ball!!
he really looked similiar to Zay Flowers tonight didn't he ?

At a conference so could only follow updates but......

holy **** we actually used our pass-catching backs effectively in the passing game!??????
We should see even more after the bye when he installs more, Brady really likes the screen game (McCaffrey) as well.

I like Joe Brady’s energy a lot more. Was never a fan of Dorsey’s interviews.

Good game overall and first game called by Brady.

Still not optimistic about playoffs because they won a game they should’ve. Dorsey should’ve been sent packing a while ago.

We lost too many games to bad teams (Jets, Patriots, Broncos)

I think we finish at 8 or 9 wins which will just be short with the way we stack up with tie breakers.
He really likes to spread the ball around

I noticed Miller making some nice moves to create pressure. It was against the Jets, but still good to see.
I will wait for the All-22 guys overnight but I only remember seeing one half pressure. One play he overran the pocket so deep it looked like he was headed for the tunnel.

Just noticed the Dolphins next 4 .. Unlike us they have it relatively easy.. Though the 2 against the Jets should be hard fought Divisional games. The Jets D should come out pissed on BF.

@Jets
@ Commies
Titans
Jets

Well .... Division hopes look slim after that but just take it week by week.

Then they finish the last 3 with this -

@Ravens
Cowboys
Bills

Best case scenario is they somehow go 2-2 over the next 4 while we go 3-1. Though 2-2 wouldn't be back breaking if they do the same during that time. Hopefully the Jets pull off a miracle sweep.I highly doubt it though.

We can't realistically talk about the division until we get past The eagles/Chiefs. A sweep there would be 7 losses and kill any chance. If we can split with KC/Chiefs, we'd probably have to win out, but there's a chance. I have the Dophins at 5 losses going into that last game (A split with the Jets and a loss to the Ravens). So if we go in with 6 losses and they have 5, then we can win the division in Miami. 7 losses kill the division chances, at least IMHO.

Admittedly I've got some rose-colored glasses on today, but I think Douglas could become a low-key star/cult player here.

Slotting right into an elite defensive culture and perfect scheme fit, cold weather kid from NJ, knack for making huge plays, warrior archetype. It's easy to envision him being a playoff performer. In a month it's going to be hard to picture the team without him.
I'm pumped about Rasul - this game is exactly what I was hoping for when I posted the above at the deadline. Two picks and a recovered fumble! Getting those takeaways again that had us wreaking havoc early in the year. He's a true dawg and an elite ball hawk. Plus he almost had his signature lateral for a return TD if not for an incidental touch that I didn't think was a "tackle" at all. He was an excellent addition by Beane for this year (esp with the secondary injuries) and the next couple.

Still, it's incredibly frustrating that we don't have at least one more win on the year. In addition to our own inconsistency, we've been the victim of fluke losses, injuries, penalties, turnover luck - everything that feels random and gross about football. But sometimes a team earns its bad luck. One thing is for sure - this is an absolute nightmare of a 6-7 seed if we sneak in. I still think this team can beat anyone in the league (and that will be put to the test in the coming weeks.) If we knock off a couple of these SB contenders, the bandwagon will be overflowing once more.

Realistic finish to the season:

@ Eagles: as much as I want to fanboy the Bills, it’ll be a tall task to go on the road and win against the NFL’s best team. Loss, 6-6.

@ Chiefs: in past years the Bills won in KC. Another tall task. Loss. 6-7.

Vs Cowboys: home game against a tough rival, this is one of the tough games I think the Bills could take. Win. 7-7.

@ Chargers. LA has a leaky defense and gives up a lot. I think McDermott can do enough to hold Herbert back. Win. 8-7.

Vs Patriots. Revenge game. I think the Bills will put up 40 in this game. Win. 9-7.

@ Miami. By this point, Jacksonville will have secured the AFC second seed with help from Burrow getting hurt and a cush schedule. They could run the table the rest of the way and go 14-3. Chiefs will be at 1, finishing 15-2 or 14-3.

Dolphins will be fighting it out with the Ravens for the 3rd seed, with the division in hand. I see Baltimore going 3-2 down the stretch into the final weekend, at 11-5, losing to Jacksonville and SF on the road but beating Miami at home.

I think Miami goes 5-1 down the stretch into the final weekend, losing to Baltimore and beating the Cowboys in South Florida. That’d put Miami at 12-4 and needing a win for the 3 seed. Baltimore finishes with a home game against the Steelers, which they should win.

I don’t see Miami letting off the gas. Loss. 9-8.

That won’t be enough to make the playoffs but should allow Beane to re-stock a bit after the season.

And for my favorite team to follow this season aside from the Bills, I think Washington goes 2-4 down the stretch and finishes 6-11. That probably isn’t enough for Rivera to survive. Hopefully McDermott can convince Rivera and Bienemy to come to BuffAli.

We aren't losing to lame miami without zebra and weird help. and losing to both philly and kc , after a bye Come on. You act like u buy the narrative we suck. If we don't at least split. We don't deserve to post season anyway.
Ten plus play go different we are 8 and 2 or 5 and 6. In entertainment league hopefully we overcome as we are a great football team w a great qb.

Easy button redzone TD? More please.

I didn't have a chance to post yesterday, but my thoughts on Brady's first game (typing this sentence feels dirty ):
  • Full credit for looking great against such an elite D
  • Tremendous job using presnap motion
  • Great job scheming guys open, as well as using everyone as a viable weapon
  • Great job using the middle of the field
  • Cook looks like Alvin Kamara...
  • Great job with communication, usually a new person calling plays along with a lot of presnap motion results in some hurried snaps or delay of game calls. The timing from everyone was great though. It'll be interesting to see if they can keep it up on the road
Final thoughts - Cautiously optimistic. I liked a lot of what we did, but it's much easier to look good when there's no tape on you and you break a bunch of tendencies that you've been showing all season. As encouraged as I am, it'll be important to see how this offense looks a month from now when defenses have a better idea about Brady and his tendencies/patterns.

Diggs had 27 yards. Davis his completely expected 0. Allen took everything else and beat a top D going away.
100%. This is what McDermott has been asking for. Take what the defense gives you on offense, thus controlling clock and possession. This keeps the defense fresh and the other offense out of rhythm.

Another poster quipped that McD looks like a better coach when the offense scores 30 pts. No doubt, but why they put up 30 pts is because they played complimentary football, so the defense didn't get tired, thus they got quick stops, and gave the offense more opportunities to score points and from better field position.

It was just a better called and executed offense. Not anymore explosive, just better controlled and reactive to what the defense in front of them was doing. They took the short stuff and ground down the field, until the defense adjusted to stop it, and then they beat them with a few longer shots.
Much better game. Hope they build off it.

The offense looks better when the defense and STs cause 4 turnovers and the team is a +3 in the turnover differential.

It's almost like complementary football works...

on their losses……..

Jets at home in home opener. Many teams can play better early and get emotion. They were a 500 team last year.

Pats…similar. name teamed coming in, team motivsted to prove themselves. They played well at home against eagles and fins with ball in 4th and chance to tie/ take lead. Buffalo they succeeded. Thr other two iirc thry got into the red zone but drive ended.

denver thry got turnovers that kept them in the game and getting them points or keeping buffalo without.

jacksonville and Cincinnati were one score defests

for the chiefs…..

their home lions loss= bills denver loss
their lose at Denver on road= bills div lose at jets/ pats
i can see them lose at vegas/ chargers later this season Which = loss at pats/ jets

other wins were close games. Only bears was a blow out. Other wins were undecided till 4 th quarter as one score games.
