I’ll give Cook a break because they will try to get him to say something about the coach after being sat while he’s still upset over a loss. Could be a bad combo for him.

Davis as a veteran who has gotten every chance, however, is a f***ing coward
Davis is a *captain*, for Christ’s sake!

If we had Tre/Hyde/Milano/Jones/Benford/whoeverthehellelseImissed.......I'd be ripping the D another asshole.

But we're playing our like 5th string CBs and Ss out there as well as a rookie MLB (who Wilson repeatedly owned).

They did what they could.
Remarkably, the one section of the roster that doesn't have a coordinator (the defense) performed the strongest.

Comparing how McDermott squeezes every ounce of talent out of his injury riddled defense, to how Dorsey gets absolutely nothing out of one of the best QBs in the NFL, is like comparing Mozart to a high school music teacher.

They can still make it. Need to beat the Jets and New England. And take 3 out of 5 against KC, Philly, the Chargers, Dallas, and Miami. It's tough, but it's doable. And it starts tomorrow. With a new OC.

Not sure if firing a ST coach moves the needle enough for me to be honest. What was the explanation for having 12 men on the field?

If Araiza was cleared, I'd welcome him back! But it's not the way the world works. Hunt gets cut by KC, but then a number of teams are interested and he has success in Cleveland. It's kinda dumb, why not stay with the guy if you're KC, or the opposite why would any team give him a chance? Why should the current team always have to cut a guy?

I'm basically settled down now. Nothing got broken other than my spirit.

Lol this town's rant finds run the most successful coach they've had in 25 years out of town. Good luck with that, morons.
Wade Phillips
Gregg Williams
Mike Mularkey
Dick Jauron
Perry Fewell
Chan Gailey
Doug Marrone
Rex Ryan
Anthony Lynn

That's the list of coaches you're measuring McDermott against with your statement. The fact that every last one of them unequivocally sucks doesn't mean he's presently doing a good job in his role. It means he presently sucks less than the rest of them. It's okay to fire someone who is currently underperforming in their job...no matter how badly their predecessors also sucked ass.

Wade and Rex aren’t even bad coaches. They’re just flawed, and each had periods of success themselves elsewhere. What they didn’t have was a prime Josh here

3 straight division titles. 47 regular season wins over the last four years. Playoffs in 5 out of the 6 years, with the first year coming with a marginal roster at best.

It’s the quarterback, not the coach.
So how did they make the playoffs with a career backup QB, then? Who developed the qb that most of the NFL media (including a lot of people here, including me) thought was a reach as a raw potential but a long shot to be an excellent pro?

Nobody will disagree with that. He has done well here but has yet to get to the next step. IMO since that 13 second game they have regressed. They need to find that offensive minded coach that will push them over the top.

Both of them approached the game pretty much the same way Shawn does...defense first and offense if there's time. I agree that Josh should be the difference maker there but there's something holding him back from being what he's capable of being. I don't know if that's him, or if it's coaching, or if it's both...but something is absolutely wrong somewhere, there's a bad fit. Player, coach, scheme, plan...some combo of all of it...I don't know. I do feel like if Josh had free reign to call his own plays and make it happen out there, we would be scoring more points. Scoring more points seems important to the goal of winning more football games.

Does anyone remember NFL Playmakers? It was an ESPN drama about a fictional football team. I feel like the Bills are that fictional football team. The diva WR who is always causing drama, the small town QB who has gone Hollywood, the young, talented RB who is always in the doghouse, and the old vet RB who is favored but doesn’t have much left, the hard ass coach who can never be wrong.

I guess what I’m saying is that this team lost whatever vibes it had when it was up and coming. They don’t give off that “we’re all in it together” feeling that we used to get. Feels like a team with a lot of egos. If that’s right, I don’t know how you fix it without a serious reboot.

He at minimum deserves another OC hire (or the leash to stick with Dorsey for more than one bad stretch).

Losses this season to the Broncos, Patriots and Jets. 5-5-0 record. In serious danger of missing the playoffs this season. Needed a pretty significant miracle of a no-call to not lose to the Giants and be 4-5-0. I'm appreciative of what has transpired in recent seasons under McDermott but that is not translating to a successful 2023-24 season by any means. We're floundering with zero identify and three of the next four opponents are the cream of the NFL crop right now.

No one thought that roster was going to be 9-7. I agree benching Tyrod fur the Chargers game was a mistake, but it doesn't overwhelm the job he did that year to get them to 9-7.
Sure, and I wouldn’t even say he’s a bad coach, though I think that team got a little lucky. I just don’t think he’s the reason they’ve had good results of late, in the same way I think most coaches are indebted to some extent to their qbs. If the bills hired anyone but a full-on moron, they’ll still be good with Josh at the helm. If McD went to KC and replaced Reid they’d probably still be the class of the league because Mahomes is that good

Even Dorsey doesn't deserve more Dorsey pain at this point. I'm completely fine with sticking with McDermott and giving him the benefit of the doubt and additional opportunity. Nothing Dorsey is doing is deserving of that same respect and opportunity.
