In my opinion, he could have had a much better career than he had, but he seemed more interested in being a show than a player.

I understand that many may disagree with me.

:dunno::dunno: i agree.. when he wasnt a **** head, he was a pretty good player.

I agree with you, and for as much as he was one of my favorite players for sheer entertainment value, I hate the fact that he basically cut his own career short because he couldn't find the fine line between being a hockey player, and being a sideshow. His butting heads with Torts didn't help. He is definitely part of the blame. Avery obviously had other interests in goals in life as well though, and good for him for pursuing them.

I know that's out of habit but this time you happen to be correct.

That's kind of my feeling too. He played a lot of NHL games, did some good for the Rangers, and now he's off doing other stuff that he wants to do. That's fine by me. Life's short. Not everyone who is good enough to play in the NHL needs to spend the entire prime of their life doing it.

He's charming everyone.. it's great.

I said this in the OT thread:

Watching Avery dance. haha

I've noticed 3 (so far) Dancing with the stars have a hockey affiliation. Avery, Candace Cameron married to Valerie Bure and the dude from Big Time Rush.. on the show Big Time Rush they are ex hockey players that form a boy band.

Sean Avery trending in New York.

Ah, the good old days.

I don't know anything about dancing or rating dancing, but he seemed pretty stiff in their routine. Especially the parts where he wasn't lifting his partner up.

[spoil]20[/spoil]

seemed like a pretty reasonable score.

You guys like how I spoil tagged that? :naughty:

I couldn't stop my curiosity so I tuned in for his routine. There was a moment where he did a little solo swan jump thingy. It was at that moment I said, "ok that's enough" and changed the channel. Some things just aren't meant for my eyes to see.

bahaha just watched it. I found that I was way more focused on the smokeshow he was dancing with.

Bottom line, Avery did raise money for charity by going on Dancing with The Stars. Brodeur comes off looking really bitter by attacking a guy for that. He just can't let it go. Avery really got the better of him.

Brodeur will retire at 41 owning the most games won in league history and a ticket already punched for the hall of fame.

Avery threw a promising career away at age 31 because he couldnt stop being an *******.

That seems to be the bottom line.
