This is such a blah return and I don't believe for a second there wasn't a targeted market for where nyr would ship him, as in they would not send him to certain places.

Borgen is such a meh player, him coming in says someone else is going out. Don't think it's just lindgren.

Drury did the obvious thing and went after kakko, but the vets are where this battle will happen. I'm indifferent until they actually trade an impactful vet and not just the usual or expected names.

Lol.

So our 2nd overall pick, 23 year old winger pacing for 40 points on 13 minutes of icetime a game with virtually no PP time amounts to a terrible 6/7 D and a couple of picks that will, in all likelihood, amount to nothing.
It just doesn’t make sense. The trade is immediately horrendous.

Feel awful for Kakko. Should have never been 2OA.
I agree with you most of the time but this is absolutely incorrect.

I remember watching the World Championships in his draft year and thinking about how sure of the thing he looked that tournament.

Absolutely a two way winger with a 60 point floor. The harsh reality is that this organization failed to develop him properly. David Quinn and scratching him Game 6 in 2022 ruined his self confidence.

I'm not a huge KK guy but I would have thought he'd return more than this just based on GMs still seeing some 'potential' in him that they could unlocked. 3rd, 6th and a UFA D-man with only 2.5 full seasons of hockey seems like a good trade from Seattle's POV.
Hopefully Othmann can get back up to speed quickly and we see him in KK's spot before too long.

Go well Kaako, it was an interesting time in Ranger-land with you around.
