It's frustrating to think about what they potentially could have packaged Kakko for when he had value.

I'm not a huge KK guy but I would have thought he'd return more than this just based on GMs still seeing some 'potential' in him that they could unlocked. 3rd, 6th and a UFA D-man with only 2.5 full seasons of hockey seems like a good trade from Seattle's POV.
Hopefully Othmann can get back up to speed quickly and we see him in KK's spot before too long.

If Kakko gets regular top-6 minutes in Seattle, I fully expect him to be a consistent 50-60 point winger. Extra playing time alone will provide the production, especially if there's PP time.

He's never going to live up to his draft position, but he's worth more than this slop.

Someone had to fall on the sword. It is what it is. I'll take the picks and they needed size on defense. They'll probably look to extend Borgen as a bottom pair guy.

Kakko got a raw deal at times but also never grasped the opportunities. Seems like a guy that NY was too big for. There's a very real chance he's the next Puljujaarvi, but i personally hope he does well in Seattle.

Rangers are a better team today but we will see where that gets Drury. He should make another trade before the roster freeze. Lindgren out because you just backfilled him with a guy who is not a punching bag.

Not surprised about the return. I think the nhl kinda realizes what he is, a third liner with an ok but unspectacular two way game. Poor speed, no physicality but a solid possession game . That isn’t gonna fetch much more than this. But what I don’t get is the need to trade him. He isn’t exactly blocking anybody right now? Hope it’s not drury being spiteful.
