Is RA ever coming back to Spittin Chiclets?

As someone who has never missed an episode I can guarantee he will be back. A lot of people won’t like it, some will. Whichever side you stand on I guarantee you he will be back.

Don't really have strong feelings either way about RA but can't say I've missed him much on their podcast. Yandle really has the sarcastic bitch thing going for him. Getting sober if that is what he's doing is tough, especially so for a guy who's whole persona is being an alcoholic mess. Best of luck to him either way and I hope he takes all the time he needs.

He may be contemptible but doesn't mean he doesn't deserve some peace if he does the work.

Who the F is RA. What a bad post.
If you can click into the thread and type that, you can click open a tab and google “RA Spitten chiclets” based on the title.

It’s a guy Rear Admiral (idk what his real name is) and he’s been on spitten chiclets for years. As the title suggests, he’s been gone.

Basically he’s been the moderator/punching bag. I don’t follow too closely but I think he does some media stuff on their behalf too. I think he crashed the Tampa cup celebrations

The problem with RA is he doubled down after the finals fiasco. Basically saying on a podcast with Portnoy (aka his boss) that he did nothing wrong and he wasn't sorry for anything.

This was guy who not only was drunk off his ass as a credentialed media member at the finals, but was wearing a freaking diamond choker. Total embarrassment.

I personally don't think they'll be bringing him back. He can still get some financial gain out of it via ownership but he brings nothing to the show and burned a lot of bridges with his antics in June.

I listen in maybe 1, 2 times a month but I hope so. He was creep during the finals last summer around that Edmonton girl and coming onto the ice after. The attention went to the guys head

Was it ever stated why he left ?
Fans have said for years he didn’t add much and that the show sometimes devolved into them just making fun or arguing with him.

But based on posts here apparently I missed some fun during the last finals. He’s a relatively older guy who leaned too hard into his persona probably, maybe drinking too much or making an ass.

He is (was?) close with the Tkachuks but then got caught up in the Edmonton come back hype. Got drunk and rooted for ‘em, then tried to join the Tkachuks with the cup on the ice and got told “haha screw off. No, seriously”. And he was partying pretty hard, plus a recent divorce- they agreed he needed some time off, which is fair.

But I kinda assumed it’d be the summer, and instead it seems like it’s quietly been an opportunity to let go of a guy the show had maybe outgrown. That’s all his controversy was- embarrassing himself, really.
It was related to cheering for the Oilers? Okay, now I'm definitely on his side.

Guy has an alcohol/substance abuse problem which isn’t funny when a young man uses it as punchline and is just sad when an old man does it

Even if that wasn’t an issue, he’s not overly well spoken or charismatic enough to be on radio/tv. Still deserves credit for being an og to the biggest podcast in hockey but id rather not hear from him again

I shouldn't have to. You should have enough context in a thread so half the people that read it dont walk away confused.

RA was a host on Spittin Chiclets. Spittin Chiclets is a podcast of interest to some posters here; how so many got to this thread all lost and confused is beyond me, but I suspect such confusion is common in their lives. Anyways, a podcast is like a radio show you can listen to anytime, this one is about hockey. Hockey is a game played on ice with sticks. Anything else I’m responsible for informing you of?

He got divorced and went off the rails even worse than he had in the past.

Some examples of him being a mess after Game 7:

I think he had also done shrooms that night and slept on the beach afterwards? And he bragged about some of this on the podcast. So yeah, he became a bit of an embarrassment and I think the other 2 want to try and act more professional going forward. From what I've seen RA doesn't really want to change.
