That’d be nice for sure imagine the Jets with a top 10 Pp

Not sure he’s one of the guys Arniel has been going after though, do they have history?
I'd like to see a veteran guy like Kirk Muller get the job...He's had an impact on PPs, PK, FO's for teams he's coached...definitely a player's coach.

That’s a name I forgot about. Good call - Muller would be a good choice.

in the little searching I did I found that he ran an agressive pk in carolina so hopefully he does that here because idk why we went back to a passive pk last year
Looks like he had the #2 overall PK in the league through his tenure with the Canes, and the #10 overall PK through his tenure with the Leafs.

Could be a really nice under the radar hire, the knock on him from what I've read is that the regular season success of the PK hasn't translated as well to playoffs

Sounds like exactly what we need. I'd be quite ok with this hire.

So Payne is the powerplay guy? Ottawa's been pretty decent in that area during his stint there.

Davis Payne's PP% with the Senators was 18.7% through 5 seasons with the Senators, good for
14.2% (31st, 19-20),
15.5% (26th 20-21),
19.3% (20th, 21-22),
23.5% (8th, 22-23),
18% (23rd, 23-24).

PP% (Rank, season)

24th leaguewide over that timespan, the Jets PP for comparison ranks 16th in those 5 seasons.

Was he in charge of the PP when he won a cup in LA?

Chynoweth seems like a good hire. Payne on the other hand seems very mediocre, if not bad.

Sens had the 8th best PP last year though, but all the other years it was pretty shit.

they have also been rebuilding for how long? I think looking at percentage and ignoring the roster he had to work with is not the way to go
