Scoring Depth Issues

It's not about Dubas in that regard. If what I'm saying is true, then It's about Pittsburgh illegally approaching our people who were under contract. You can't do that.

Sakic tried but Shanascam quashed it. Imagine trading a stick boy for a 1st to the Pens the year the dummies hired Burke and Hextall.

He’s a composite of Kerfoot and Kase I find. Less assertive puck carrier than Kerfoot but more of a pure rusher. Poorer defensively. More aggressive than Kase at times but less rambunctious shift to shift.

He gets a lot of points on the rush, Willy might find him more useful than Bert. Maybe Jarn keeps them in check on the right.

All you are missing? Don't you think the enormous difference between that Blues club and the current Leafs team is that Blues team had Alex Pietrangelo, Jay Bouwmeester, Colton Parayko and Vince Dunn?

That Blues team added an "out of nowhere" goaltender to an outstanding defence. The Maple Leafs don't have a blue line anywhere close to the quality of that Blues club.

Don't sell Bortuzzo and Edmundson short, Blues had a monster blueline. We're starting to look good on the left but missing the other half.

I think Domi is easily providing 3M value

Very happy with his deal all things considered so far

Bertuzzi needs to be much better though

You understand what I'm saying here? Remove Dubas from the equation. Pittsburgh likely broke the rules and approached our personnel, effecting contract negotiations and poaching people.

That's a problem. Jokes about hating Dubas aside.

It's not really a unique problem, nor are the Leafs unique "victims". It's how the league operates. An open secret really, tampering with executives is pretty routine

You are assuming that it was Pittsburgh that approached Dubas rather than the other way around, and that they did it without permission. We will probably never know if either was true or not.

Even if that was the situation, since the end was so positive for us, I wouldn't complain too much about the means (channelling Machiavelli).

I am assuming. I am suggesting that the Leafs need to investigate the situation. I find it suspect that Dubas was all but about to sign the contract and then suddenly asked for the moon to the point Shanahan would obviously reject him at that point.

Something happened and I am pointing fingers at Pittsburgh doing an end round.

I don't think anyone is taking what I suspect Pittsburgh to have done seriously. And if the Leafs let this go without an investigation, they are asking for future talent to get poached.

Bertuzzi - 1 goal in last 25
Kampf - 1 goal in last 19
Gregor - 1 goal in last 19
Knies - 1 goal in last 16
Domi - 1 goal in last 14
Tavares - 1 goal in last 11

That is simply not good enough for any long term success especially come playoff time.

simple improving your D. If youre improving the D, you will play less in your defensive zone, your transition will be better, you will play more in the offendive side, get more scoring chance, get d more involve in the offensive side...:and at the end raise goal from depht

you can change every player you want in the offensive side, that will never change nothing if the D geoup is not upgrade
