"I am also going to kill Hollywood..."
Don't be ridiculous, brother. I meant the entire place.
"I am also going to kill Hollywood..."
That was cool as shit, but I am going to kill them for making me wait a week for the next one. I am also going to kill Hollywood if they don't settle this writers strike soon.
Just watched the latest episode.Oh shit.
Ahsoka.
I think that's why I have no desire to watch...A you need some background info from CW and Rebels and B I am tired of jedi

Didn't S1 end with Egwene and Nynaeve likeFirst episode was okay, though the last time we saw Loial he looked decidedly dead.... first appearance in season 2 he's perfectly healthy and chipper with no explanation of his recovery.
I have low expectations. Amazon committed to three seasons, so you'd think they would try to improve it to make it watchable.
Not wrong, not wrong.
It's refreshing to really see it portrayed in live-action because too much of Star Wars live-action has always been White Hat/Black Hat. Jedi or Sith. His character is such a breath of fresh air. And so his padawan/apprentice/whatever she is.
Antagonists that aren't so one-dimensional. The fact that Baylon (is that it?) still has great appreciation for the Jedi while being actively against them is wonderful. The Padawan lady even has a little Jedi Padawan braid in her hair!
I like that Ahsoka is so reserved and not some bubbly kid. The chick has *gone through it* so she should be emotionally guarded at this point...
Really my biggest issue is the dialogue, but what's new in the Disney Star Wars Universe.
ive never read the books so i didnt know what to expect going into the first season and at first it seemed super like a super generic fantasy story but it introduced enough cool and intriguing shit in the lore to keep me interested. the first season ended really strong, and this second season has started just as strong with a couple what the fkkk moments so i hope theyre doing it justice for the book fans but as someone whos only seen the show its pretty dopeDidn't S1 end with Egwene and Nynaeve likeburnt to crisp?
Anyway S1 was a dumpster fire and the production value looked really cheap at times. I had since read that basically COVID ran into it like a semi-truck. They were a month or two into filming and then it broke out and shut everything down for a year. Then when it started back up it was lots of restrictions on how many people could be next to each other, travel blocks on locations they planned to shoot at, etc... So a lot of really cheap looking sets and bad CG backgrounds as well as limited character interactions.
Also effects and music studios were doing a lot of 'work from home' and other things and just really didn't deliver much quality. They also did a hasty rewrite to Mat's character because of issues with the actor either wanting to live or refusing to do certain things or something.
The show so far in S2 looks a lot better and the pacing is better... Rand's actor is still pretty boring, Perrin's actor isn't much better.
I expect massive book changes because there's no way you can do 8 to 10 episodes and adapt the book without going like 20 or 30 season... Realistically I doubt Amazon has goes more than 5 years and wouldn't be shocked if its cancelled after next year since S3 is already approved/doing production.
I don't really look at the books with a lot of huge reverence. Robert Jordan crafted a huge world, but he had a lot of flaws in his style and scope. He kept introducing more and more minor characters and hardly ever resolved their plotlines. He certainly also had issues from his overly appearance driven representation of his female characters. I remember there was one place they visited where the 'style' all women wore dresses which exposed one of their breasts which he decided to constantly write about while they were there.
Rand's "relationships" come across as some kind off fan-fiction wish fulfillment which I have absolutely no problem if the show doesn't go there.
Only reason I even ended up reading the books was because I used to go to a second-hand bookstore that was like Morrell and Frankford and then in the early 2000s they closed down (like lots of other bookstores with Amazon pretty much taking over the market) and they had a going out of business thing where for like $20 you could buy a box and stuff it full of books. I think I prob got 100 or more books and they had books 1 thru 8 i think it was.
At the time I was like "Oh book 8, guess it's almost done." lol. Naive.

I think it’s Johnny that’s the weak link. She was fine. That's a shame because Diaz is the only weak link
