I don't really watch Dr Who - and I know it isn't overly serious, but Neal Patrick Harris just seems to makes it even less serious.

It’s really not a dramatic show, overly or otherwise. If anything, it leans more towards the zany and kooky and quippy. Good natured fun. It’s tonally all over the map, especially depending on which Doctor incarnation. It can be dark and dramatic at times, but I’d say that’s built and earned on its lightheartedness.

NPH is playing “The Celestial Toymaker.” Campy with a dark twinge describes many a Who villain.

It’s a kid’s show for grown-ups.

Maybe my favorite episode of Doctor Who

Secret weapon: a young Carey Mulligan is the star of the episode.

I rewatched a lot of the best New Who episodes the last year or two. To wash away the taste of the Chibnall era. So many crackerjack episodes worth revisits.

Yeah, every so often I go through all of them. It’s such a shame because I think both Capaldi and Whittaker were good but the scripts varied between mediocre and downright lousy.

I quite enjoyed most of Capaldi’s run. I liked his morose moody Doctor after Tennant and Smith. I didn’t think it was that far behind in quality. Had a few of the best episodes of the series too — I’m a big fan of Moffat’s stint as showrunner, going back to Smith. Mile a minute cleverness in script and plot.

I legitimately don’t believe Whittaker had 1 even above average episode worth another watch. If anything, 80% should be thrown in the ash heap. Wasn’t her fault, but it was that bad. I’d call it the Chuck Fletcher Era of Who.

Moffat was good. Twice Upon a Time is one of my favorites.

Some nerds also read the inscriptions on the doors in the last episode that show that the thing they’re on is Kujet’s tomb. He’s a dark side Zeffoian that we learned about in the video game Fallen Order. I’m guessing that’s who/what Baylan is looking for when he mentions that he’s being called to.
