Proposal: Scheifele for Toews?

Easy pass from WPG. cheaper, younger and schifele is producing just as much as toews, whos contract is bad.

if i was the jets i'd be keeping Scheifele.

When you factor in respetive cap hits and age, it's not that hard of a choice

Doesn't make sense for either team, imo. As a Jets fan (who loves Toews), I'd keep Scheifele at this point (for the reasons I listed in that thread on hf jets). Safe to say Chicago would keep Toews as well.

Can't honestly think of an asset which would pull Toews out of Chicago. Same could be said about Scheifele though.

Both teams decline, no need to start a full on flamewar about it.

Yup. I love both players.

This would be really bad for the morale of both teams.

WPG isn't a Toews away from winning a Cup, and Chicago has no reason to trade the captain that lead them to 3 Cups.

I wouldn't trade Scheif for Monahan MacKinnon or Draisaitl (not even close for Drai). No chance I would trade him for Toews either.

The rest I agree with.

Toews gets it pretty bad lately. Hossa isn't the same player he used to be and the two of them didn't have a stable left winger all year. Toews still produces and is very good in his own zone. He lead his team to 3 cups so far there's no way Chicago trades him.

Toews is much better then Schiefele. Schiefele fits the jets plans much better though being younger and much cheaper. This trade would not be smart cap wise for their team. They are going to be a cup contender in a couple years with the team they have built. Overall just not a fit for either team.

When he gets payed 10,5 a year, 58 points isnt producing. He was an unreal twoway player a couple years ago(and his 2010 playoffs was unreal) and he still is a damn good player but he isnt anything close to top 5 player in the league atm. Not saying you said it but i dont see how anyone can justify him beeing a top 5 player. Bergeron for example had 10 more points and is the best defensive player in the league imo. This season Toews was pretty far away from Bergeron`s twoway game and not close to top 5 or even top 10 forward in the league. And im a huge Toews fan, but he deserves some critisism after this season because he was poor.

I'd give you some of those but not all. Doesn't matter though since none of them are the subject of this thread.
