Sean McDonough f***ing sucks. I love Ray between the benches but please get an actual play by play guy on the top crew. Hell, you could even just put Levy in the booth instead of the studio. I can’t listen to him do these games anymore.

As much as everyone shits on the Rangers, they took a pretty big bite out of Tampa from the physical standpoint. They looked gassed game 1 and game 2 and held on for dear life tonight. Colorado looked like the faster and better conditioned team tonight.
Avs definitely looked in another league first two games, but these last two TB swung it back their way, well at least for the first 3 periods tonight. No show in OT.

Cry baby. What even was not kosher about it? It definitely wasn't offsides.
Too many men. He's right but them's the breaks.

edit: Mackinnon, Landeskog, Nichushkin have the long shift. Tampa clears the zone and the camera pans to Kuemper playing the puck. Then when it pans back Mackinnon is a couple strides from the bench and Kadri is receiving a pass up the middle of the ice. He definitely jumped on egregiously early.

edit2: Watching the replays and other angles...it definitely allows for a quicker transition which is crucial to the goal but it's not like the too many men caused one of the Tampa players to be taken out of defensive position.

You'd think Cooper of all people would want to keep quiet about it all seeing as they had 7 on for a goal against the Isles in the ECF...

Man that’s quite the cry baby act by Cooper there. I usually like his pressers and think he works the media like a fiddle. But jeez I mean that’s a lazy change at worst, that almost never gets called. Only if the player coming off the bench touched the puck, yes, but a lazy change away from the play almost never gets called.

I can see the complaining but I really don’t think it’s as egregious as the reaction from Cooper makes it out to be. He’s acting as if they had 6 players on for a whole shift and all 6 touched the puck before scoring. Or Vasy got run over or even a bad goalie interference call or something. A lazy change like this almost never gets called regardless of whether it’s right or not.

They could have called probably 5-6 penalties in the third and OT, they swallowed the whistle, Tampa should have buried them in the first if they wanted to win.

No sympathy from me for Tampa. They cheated the cap last year and if you look at when Kadri enters the zone, if they're crying about Mackinnon being on the ice, Tampa had 7 skaters lol.

Artemi Panarin in that same exact situation would have pulled up and looked to pass to Strome.

and Strome would shoot wide, or hesitate so a shot is blocked . . . oh the pass jumped over his stick . . . he tried giving it back to Panarin . . . .

Avs deserved this one. Fought back hard after that first period and didn't give Tampa an inch in OT. Not over yet, but has this Avs team lost 3 games in a row all season?

Yeah man. MacKinnon's left skate blade touching the ice as he entered the bench really altered how that played out.

f*** the Lightning. Bitching about the rules and how hard it is to win in the cap era? GTFO.

Tampa is the last team that should be complaining about controversy or questionable things that happen on or off the ice, lol.

I hope the Avs win. I played video poker and Bednar was seated next to me (in South Carolina) after a Stingrays game when he was a player in the ECHL many moons ago. He then went on to coach the SC Stingrays and win the Kelly Cup. A lot of Stingrays fans (that know Bednar's history) are rooting for the Avs to win.

I'm convinced McDonough is there as the anti-Emrick. In some ways, it's pleasant. The screeching is like nails on a chalkboard for me. I do believe that Disney realized that Emrick's style is polarizing and gauged fan reaction to him and came up thinking they wanted the polar opposite. The problem with that is that McDonough comes off as completely disinterested and disengaged. How many goals has he missed in the playoffs now?

Ferraro vs. McGuire is one where no one wins. Ferraro doesn't name drop and appear to be interviewing for a GM job with certain teams every time he broadcasts a game. Though, pains me to say it, as beyond annoying as McGuire is, he is the better technical analyst.

I had to listen to most of the game on XM last night driving back to Charlotte from Raleigh after picking my daughter up from basketball camp. The sound quality was piss poor at best. The p x p guy's mic was so muted with crowd noise pumped in, it was like trying to listen to WFAN in the Carolinas. Yet, Micheletti's mic was turned up to 15. The production was awful.

As for Gary Thorne, while I can appreciate the desire for nostalgia, the man is cooked. It would not be an enjoyable experience. In all seriousness, just put Levy in the booth and let McDonough host.
