I agree with everyone except Kamensky. I did like him.
Kamensky got a bad rap. He was a stand-up player until one game in Toronto. He was in the dirty area and scored a goal and as Valerie raised his arms to celebrate a leaf defenseman (Brian McCabe?) crossed checked him in the sides.
No penalty called, no LaFontaine rule brought down by the league and the saddest of the three no Ranger on the ice challenged McCabe. Gutless.
It was reported in the news papers that Valerie was urinating blood after the attack.
Kamensky was never the same player for New York after that.

I was told by Tampa fans that Vasi’s better than Igor…
Maybe they said bigger; you with their Southern Drawl a lot of their words sound similar.

Last week some dolt on SiriusXM NHL radio, that for some reason they were placating and giving him a ton of air time, claimed with enthusiasm that Vasilevskiy is top 5 all-time. He literally said that if Vasilevskiy played in like Bobby Orr's time that Vasilevskiy would get 60 shutouts per seson. I'm not even paraphrasing. What a joke. The guy's pads are top 5 all time 10 sizes too large. Even fatty Brodeur wasn't as bad at being much fatter in the net than he actually is. Most overrated product of the team in front of him that I've ever seen up there with another former "Bolt" goaltender Ben Bishop, another large lump with huge pads. Vasilevskiy never, not once, had to carry his team in any capacity. Jean Sebastien Giguere was better than Vasilevskiy. I wouldn't even have Vasilevskiy in the top 10 of the last 20 years, forget all-time. Lundqvist, Price, Fleury, Miler, Rinne, Quick, Luongo, Rask, Brodeur, Giguere, Thomas... all better than Vasilevskiy's huge pads.

This is an extremely hot take with recency (like 24 hrs) bias.

Rinne was the biggest choke artist come playoff time. Luongo choked in the Finals. Most Bruins fans think Rask is a choker. Gigure is the poster child for wearing big pads and being a shot blocker. Price was great in a weak playoff bracket last year.

The Avalanche are obviously ridiculous but let’s see what happens in Tampa. Mile high advantage is a thing, and we saw Cooper and co. make some serious adjustments against us just a couple weeks ago.
Can't take anything for granted, but sure looks like TB are up against it. Let me see.......correct me if I am mistaken.

Our Rangers took "advantage" of a "Rusty" Tampa team and more specifically Vaseline (NOT a correctathingy).
So, how come Tampa hasn't taken advantage of the same?

Or........did they shoot theit load, similar how we did? Now Tampa looks like the "tired team". Much duress vs Rangers, again very similar to the duress the NYR's had in their previous 7 game series.
THAT obviously takes a toll, its not just the mile high thing.
Oh and btw, the Rangers showed how Vaseline can be had. Above the pad and blocker side.

I suppose we will see. If Tampa comes back and wins this series, I will eat any one of Lightning's nasty ass wives p....!

That was absolute domination in every facet of the game. It’s not a series until the home team loses, but Tampa has to get their asses in gear or this thing is going to be over quick.

Yep. They’re a defending champ with the playoff pedigree, and I expect some push back, maybe a game 3 win, but I don’t imagine we even get to 6 games. Colorado is simply a much better team - goaltending has been their Achilles heal for years, and it’s still the weak point, they just got deep enough to overcome it. Johnson was a solid depth addition, Manson was a good pick up and Byram becoming a legitimate top 4 option was huge. Toews is super underrated. Imagine Colorado having Girard and Kadri in the lineup? Colorado’s been the most exciting and dangerous looking team for a few years; they finally got the depth to get over the hump.

Tampa has depth, but they have won by playing ugly trap hockey. They won the bubble Cup after the long Covid pause. Then they beat Montreal who proceeded to finish last in the NHL the following year. Tampa’s Cups are almost asterisk Cups based on the circumstances. There being a Canadian division was a joke and led to a joke finals. So funny we swapped Nemeth/Johnson with Colorado.

Kaplan asked Makar "Can you leave tonight feeling good?"

Yeah, I have no idea how they can leave tonight feeling good. I mean, they only won 7-0. Only 1 touchdown. That's terrible. The NYJ averaged more touchdowns per game last year!

Something I just realized yesterday, but why do we say they scored a touchdown when a team gets their 7th goal?

It's not about 24 hours. Vasilevskiy has one of the best teams of the last 2 decades in front of him that clog the ice. He doesn't win games for them. This isn't like Lundqvist who literally carried teams. Vasilevskiy is a product of his environment.

Colorado's o-zone work in positioning etc is miles and miles ahead of ours. Put our kids in that environment and they score for fun too.
Most fans go whole lifetimes without seeing their teams dominate like this. And I don't even think Bednar is that fantastic of a coach.

Players need accountability, too. Accountability and sheer f***ing talent leads to games like we saw last night.

The Avs are going to get rings, because they went to Jared.

You're ruining my they went to Jared joke.
