Yeah but playing 6 or 7 games every series isn't some badge of honor. Avs took care of their business with the double sweep using the minimum amount of games.

Totally agree. But the level of competition other than the Blues didn't measure up to the east. St Louis had them on the ropes until Binnington was Kadri'd.

Not really. The Eastern conference playoffs were a war. The Avs had a cakewalk to the Finals. Don't think for a moment all the rest they had isn't paying off now. They swept 2 teams....Tampa or the Rangers had to walk the gauntlet.

These playoffs are his coming out party. He's really never impressed me before, but he sure is now.

This whole season for him has been huge. 52 points in 60-something games. He’s becoming like the elite complimentary grinder of the league. Whether he continues once he gets his pay day this summer is a different story but right now he’s basically Fast or Lehkonen if they were 50+ point players.

I'm just parroting others that the Avs are just head and shoulders above the 31 other teams in the league. If they didn't jack themselves off leading to a weeklong slump in the regular season that enabled the Cats to leapfrog them, they should've won the President's Trophy too. The only matchup that maybe would've been competitive is the Canes. I watched their reg season game, and even the Canes couldn't keep up, and they're similar style-wise.

Any team going on a run needs a few things to break their way. The Rangers were very fortunate with their 1st round matchups in 2014 and 2015. They were fortunate that Price got hurt in 2014.

At the end of the day, they need luck, as well as needing to close out their business in less than 7 games. Colorado looks like the way more rested and faster team. The Rangers' road to the final is never going to be easy. They'll still have Toronto and Carolina that they will likely run into every year in addition to Tampa and the Pens that still may hang around and continue to give them fits the next couple of years. Colorado got really lucky McDavid went ham on Calgary. No doubt in my mind Calgary/Avs would have gone 6 or 7.

Not disagreeing at all...I just don't think the Eastern conference should be ashamed as @SnowblindNYR alluded to.

Another thing I like about the Avs is if they miss a chance they just go straight to work on the next one. No drama about missed this or that.

I need to see the replay to be sure but did that save look like the Stamkos goal in game 6 to anyone? He also didn't catch it cleanly but the puck didn't magically bounce off Nichushkin and into the net.

Makar watched Ric Flair as a kid lol

Vasi,in his defense,is getting no help in front of him
Sounds familiar. And doing nothing 5v5 and managing shots only on the PP. Sounds very, very familiar.
