There is this "puck luck" thread on the main board...inspiration sometimes comes late at night.

TSN video panel with McKenzie, Ferraro and Co discussing if the Rangers window has closed.
They stated that a large part of the Kings continued success is their depth, getting key contributions from so many players and underlined it by 11 different players having GWG's of the 15 scored by the Kings

And on the main boards, in the photoshop thread, is that same photo of Mike Richards but his right glove is holding a decapitated Statue of Liberty head with blood dripping from the neck....

I don't think NYR has that bad of a core.... just some minor tweaks like dumping Richards/Nash will go a long way. Boyle's been there best center so far!!!

Reading some of the Pacific rivals boards is fun. I seem to recall in 2012 the Kings being labeled lucky not to face the Hawks.

Well 2014 beat the Hawks, other teams Fans "Well the Kings got lucky".....Haha I can't even make this stuff up.

How do you luck your way into two Cup finals in three years ?

Because it can't be skill.

Because they can't actually be better than their own teams... They just can't. *Anaheim fans eye twitches

I agree. And it's ridiculous but it does make for mighty fine post game reading ;)

Discounted because they were sopping wet with Rangers fans tears?

I think they have some fantastic young parts, particularly their D, but no true #1 C is painful. Stepan is adequate and I like him but it's pretty clear he's outmatched (busted face sure doesn't help). Now that I think about it, their forward core is similar to the blues where they might have 3 second lines but no distinguishably better 'first' line.

All this talk about " Puck Luck " , can someone tell me what year/round we drafted him ? ... and why did the other teams pass on him ?

He was a UFA signing. Passed through the draft due to questionable skating.

Every player on this team has echoed these sentiments but I never get tired of hearing or reading them

And it's a LARGE part of why they are about to win their 2nd Cup in 3 years and have had 3 straight WCF's

MIke Richards post game
Mike Richards, on what makes this team special:
Right now or always I guess? Ever since I came to this team, it’s always been a team that has fun around each other, fun to go to the rink, enjoys each other’s company. It’s no different to this day. We seem to be a big family. I know a lot of people say that. I’ve been on some close teams, but this is probably the tightest knit group that I’ve been a part of. I think it shows on the ice how hard everyone plays.

Jarrett Stoll today

That says it all

Love the Stoll quote. Be interesting to see a guy like Avery on this team just to see what the team would do to him if he pulled that mockery of Brown's speech crap again.

I am just glad I didn't have to watch the CBC feed. Jesus christ, talk about friggin homers. "And the luck continues for the Los Angeles Kings..." WTF??!!

At least NBC gave credit to the team that won. :shakehead

Really? I haven't found the CBC crew to bad. Hrudey has been pumping Quick's tires for years now and overall I find they are fairly good at giving LA their due.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. I think the Ducks mop up the floor with the Rangers.

I agree, with a caveat for the fact Bruce Boudreau is a terrible playoff coach. He's 4th all-time with a .655 winning percentage in the regular season, yt has never made it out of the second round in six NHL post-seasons.

How do you luck yourself to (with one more win) a 10-1 record in playoff series in a three year span, in what is the toughest conference by far, a 7-0 Game 7 record during that time, a 7-0 record in elimination games this post-season, and an overall record of 40-22 in the playoffs the last three years. That's a .645 winning percentage.

That's a lot of luck. Should get Williams to pick my lottery numbers too.

I agree. He is such a buffoon.

I posted here several times before the game that I couldn't believe he was starting a rookie in net for game 7. I called him a buffoon then too.

The Kings scratched 5 on the board before I blinked. I repeated my buffoon comment. The guy just makes very bad decisions.

I like the blank responses you get on the main boards regarding being lucky when you bring up all of the "lucky" situations that the Rags have also benefited from during these playoffs.

"Kings got lucky on that interference call"

Rags got lucky on the Voynov goal.

"Kings got lucky off McD deflection to MR"

Rags got lucky when the puck fell on to Zuc stick

"Kings are only leading because they got lucky and all of the calls go there way"

Girardi slewfoots Gabby and then faceplants into his own net and somehow he gets away without a call and keeps the puck from crossing the line.

It is like they just cannot accept the idea that they are simply being beaten by a superior opponent up to this point. Sooo very much want to beat these guys tonight. Want to win the cup first but want to beat the rags because of the majority of their fans too.

wrong thread sorry

 Hey San Jose, screw you! Anaheim, you suck! Simplistic but well put.

Also liked that they didn't take a shot at Chicago, though I would have thrown something in about Shaw, simple because he's a ******.
