The Panthers began game 1 against Boston sluggishly following their long break, and I anticipate a similar start here. The Oilers will come out strong, scoring two goals in the first period thanks to Bouchard's efforts. In the second period, the Panthers will make a strong comeback, netting two goals to tie the game. Despite the Oilers regaining momentum towards the end of the second, they won't manage to score. The third period will kick off with the Oilers maintaining their momentum from the second, but an early laser shot from Reinhart will put the Panthers ahead. The Oilers will continue to press but will be unable to find the equalizer, eventually conceding an empty-net goal. The Panthers will win 4-2.
FL had a whopping one whole day more off than Edmonton. It’s not the same scenario as game 1 vs Boston.

Calm down. Florida is in a long layoff similar to after the Tampa series. It is pretty much the exact same scenario as their second round against Boston. We have seen teams respond to long layoffs well and others struggle. Florida seems to struggle.

Fun series to introduce Barkov to the Western conference. Everybody who thinks he’s a top 15-25 player is going to get the carpet pulled from under their feet in a grand way when he takes over the ice.
We’re all usually awake and watching eastern conference games while we westerners wait for our games to start, eastern conference appetizers

LoL @ “calm down”. I’m completely calm. The difference between the scenarios is that Boston came in hot riding the momentum fresh off eliminating the Leafs, while the Panthers sat around a week waiting for the winner. The two scenarios are not exactly the same.

Based on what I'm reading, the Oilers would be lucky if Florida would accept McDavid and Draisatl for Barkov in a trade.
you may need to work on your reading comprehension skills, then.
