Ahh, now the media and fans have moved to criticizing Mike Richards for holding in front of the net on Doughty's goal.

If they're willing to make this many excuses after 1 game, I think we are doing something very right :)

Gonna be a much better day at work thanks to the win!

Yea i saw that too. Its to be expected, NYR fans and media are very self-conscience about they're team and being discredited the way there are in terms of the quality of competition they faced on the east coast vs. what we had to go through. It makes them feel they really have something to prove so losing is really a hit to their ego and pride. They're going to look for something any time they lose as their excuse. The majority will certainly not be willing to except the fact that they may not be as good as us.

Brutal.
I am stlll pissed about the hit on Brown. Just because brown played through an injury (obviously I am guessing) doesn't mean there should be no supplemental discipline

Really? Here's hoping.
As a fan I wan and owner or ownership group that allows the GM to spend to the cap, and stays out of the decisions.

That and AEG is a billion dollar corporation, our cap hit is a drop in the bucket for them. They're certainly making more than they're putting in to this. I'd be nervous over a new ownership group not having the same resources and being ticky tacky about spending money.

Man I have friends who all of a sudden are big Kings supporters who call and text me every time we win to be happy with me.

I don't know whether to smile and communicate or tell them to go **** themselves. One of them being a rich boy is claiming to go the next game when he can't name more than 4 players on the roster.

Where the hell were all of you when we didn't make the playoffs for 8 years and all I looked forward to was the LAPD line and the draft during Lombardis takeover.

Remember looking forward to Breakfast With the GM? Highlight of the season!

Good times.

That is exactly what I am worried about

Whether the team is up for sale or not you have to bet he will listen to offers after the stupid money that was thrown the Clippers way. He wouldn't be a very good business man if he didn't. And if the team does win this year with 2 Cups in 3 years you'd have to think the team would be at a peak value.
The team losing money is creative accounting for sure. And for that reason I'm sure any new ownership group would want Staples Center as part of the deal.

Cup wins have little to do with team value other then a bump in merchandise. The Maple Leafs are the most valuable team by far (according to Forbes) and that team has not won a Cup since before the Kings were born. I will try to get the Forbes article up and post it here.

Forbes list of most valuable NHL teams

It might have little to do with a market like Toronto. But in LA it would increase the market value just because it puts the team on the map.
And I'm familiar with the Forbes list. They also on the NBA side had the Clippers at 550M.

Except that is was Stralman that locked up Richards, but why let facts get in the way... ****ers.

Don't think Brown was injured on the play. He had his hands up braced his face. The reason he stayed down and took his time was to get Kopitar, who was on the ice with him, some rest so he could start the first PP unit. Heads up play. Now if Brown is scratched next game I take it back.

I love LOVE the bullcrap commentary "the Rags just told the Kings this is how we play against the Bruins". DIrty? I mean they played a dirty losing game. Looking at their record against the Bruins I think that is the correct observation.

Watching NHL "Jive" on the NYR er NHL network and they just can't get their tongues out of the Rags azzes even after the loss. Like the only reason the Rags didn't win the game was because the Kings got lucky.

They had the 1st due to our uncommonly lackadaisical play the 2nd was meh for both teams and we DOMINATED the 3rd. OT would NEVER have happened if not for a very fortunate gaff by Voynov that resulted in the kicking in of the 2nd goal.

The RAGS had one short handed goal and one own goal and they "took the game to the Kings and they are lucky to have escaped with the win" according to Hradek and co? The guy is a terrible player and a Rags homer joke.

I have played against him in a beer league tourney a couple of times and he simply shouldn't play at any level above absolute beginner and he talks like he has played the game. I am done with this clown.

Other than that no big deal, everyone is great and I am loving today.

I agree with you here and feel a bit silly pointing out a correction for ya....the rags sh goal and own goal were the Same play. The first breakaway was policrap beating quick clean during 5 on 5. Everything else you said is spot on. Really hope the Kings kill the rags next game to see if they change their tune.

That's funny and you are absolutely right.

I am getting older and my rants are becoming more ridiculous and passion driven then they used to be. I will put my cane down and take a breath and then get the NHL's fact checkers to help me out. Won't change things but at least I will have a finger to point at someone other then myself.

;)

They are giving us a lot of love last few minutes.

Rofl!

And yeah, I'm gonna say it again, especially after watching the replay--QUICK was the man last night. Lots of huge saves. The Pouliot shot was an amazing shot on a breakaway, no shame in that. He stopped the next breakaway, only to be foiled by Voynov. He then had a number of clutch saves throughout the rest of the game, including that 2-on-1 by St. Louis and that breakaway towards the end. Yet, no one can stop praising Lundqvist, even though if any of those shots on "the king" (lower-case on purpose because I'm bitter like that) went in on Quick, there would be a 1-hour media session today about it. Quick was quietly the man last night and if he didn't show up we're not able to have any of these happy conversations.
